Reads like this guy just took the media hack bs he could find without doing any actual research.  He doesn't even really go to the unnamed source bs that most do.  Just a collection meaningless rumors that have no bearing on reality at all.

while I'm very much in the "espinosa is a shortstop and a waste at 2d" camp, I don't object to playing him one (and only one) season at 2d primarily alongside Desmond.  It'll give DE a chance to establish himself as an MLB hitter.  I don't want the change to be permanent.  If it turns out we have two MLB starters between ID and DE, then we can trade one.  SS is a premium position and to have two starters who are still making MLB minimum is a huge asset.
2B is considered more of an offensive position these days.  I disagree as outside of the top 2-3 guys there's very little difference.  Espinosa's OPS would have been 10th for SS and 9th for 2B last season if he had enough ABs to qualify.
There is a difference between the 2.

OPS+:
Year 3B 2B SS
2010 103 98 91
2009 101 100 92
2008 106 100 92
2007 106 100 94
2006 109 94 93
2005 106 100 92
2004 108 95 92
2003 97 96 91
2002 99 93 93
2001 104 96 91

That looks like a huge difference to me.

I think the team should trade for a decent 1B/OF option and a good starter and leave the injured guys in the infirmary.
I agree. Avoid the injury risks

Really?  To be honest I imagine him in the AL every time I see a ball roll down the first base line...

Not worth what he would have received in arbitration.

He's worth a minor league deal if his shoulder is healed.

Certainly. He's a good guy to have around, just not worth more than $775K.

Nationals Outright Two, Olsen Elects Free Agency
By Mike Axisa [November 6 at 10:01am CST]

The Nationals have outrighted left-handers Scott Olsen and Jesse English off the 40-man roster, tweets MLB.com's Bill Ladson. Olsen elected to become a free agent, and as Ladson says in a second tweet, English will become a minor league free agent this afternoon.

According the the asshats we only sign guys represented by Boras so Werth is the only one eligible in that list.

Wouldn't it be great if Rizzo were the one starting all these rumors just to throw the media and competing GMs off the trail of what he's really after?

Seriously, at this point the constant parroting about Pena has become so comical that I'd be genuinely shocked if we signed him.

That's what he was accused of in the Edwin Jackson silliness, though.

I wonder if we'll give Olsen another incentive-laden deal as well, he showed a few moments this past season, and he's only what, 26 or 27?

so have we offered Dunn arbitration yet?  I'm assuming that if we don't sign him by tonight, he's gone.  Sigh....

He claims that the free agency deadline does not end it with the Nats.

I hated that contract. It was based on the number of starts and not on helping the team. He got pissed when he was sent to the bullpen because it cost him $100K per start. (I'd be pissed also).
