Carter who?

Seriously, why are we talking about him?

because our current 3B is batting .211 / .260 / .352

Per talknats Kieboom was dealing with some soreness and was given a rest day, and is now likely day-to-day since he hasn't gone back on the IL. We'll see if he's back on Tuesday or not.

So his MRI results were clean? Or did he just get clearance from Dr. Nick?

Too bad Dr. Kevorkian is gone, he'd be a great consulting physician in cases like this.

You could substitute Bob Henley and nobody would notice.

With all the .670 OPS hitters on the team, no one should be so sacred to be blocking him and Darren Baker.

Kieboom hitting .297 / .879 OPS in ten games. He seems to be at DH half the time, so the team must be easing him back to 3B.

(Baker still at .327 with .819 OPS over 150 ABs, 39 games.)

0-4 with 4Ks. Now hitting under .200

Gotta imagine the IL stint is coming. Has not looked the same since before he missed a week.

where does he play when he comes up?  I don't think you bench Smith (.320   .407   .361 in May) or Candelario (.283   .365   .489). And you certainly don't play him ahead of Meneses.

well, the ballpark experience hasn't been the same since they got rid of Terrance. Maybe that's an option?

Smith is the obvious man out, but I suspect he gets a nice couple of months to see if there's any pop in his bat. i don't know if jeimer finishes the season here, either. he may play himself into a trade.

Kieboom has hit respectably for a week or two. He has never hit much in the majors, and he is a lousy 3B. Not proven himself yet.

Yep, easy choice. Get rid of Smith and Call and use those at bats on someone who deserves them. Alu, Baker, and Kieboom are all waiting. All have more upside than a soft hitting James Looney.
