Kieboom is on the 40-man roster right now, so there's nothing to add back.  He was optioned to AAA before he got hurt so he's not accruing MLB service time towards arbitration.  The only question is, does he make the 26-man roster next spring or not.  If he does, then all continues as normal.  If not, they'll have to waive him, and see if he clears that and then can be outrighted to AAA under a minor league contract.

That seem right to me and a better explanation of what I was trying to convey.

So far, J. Alu, making me think "Jesus Alou" each time I hear his name, has fielded 3B OK.

I’m sure there is a Little League team that could use a ringer.

I’m sure there is a Little League team that could use a ringer.

(Bob Wolff, Nats' first TV broadcaster, wrote of the time he got Harmon Killebrew in as a ringer in a father-son softball game. (Unfortunately, Harmon kept hitting popups and grounders, even after the PA announcer -- Bob -- told the crowd it was Harmon. They kept pitching to Harmon, hoping Killebrew would hit one. Nope.)

Kieboom came up as a shortstop to replace Trea T. We all remember that.

Finished 2 for 5.  Hard to be a patient hitter in this org.

TBH, it's good that we don't need him to be a quality regular anymore. For a stretch, really starting in 2018 or maybe earlier, we needed to hit big on every one of our top position prospects. I sort of think it started with Turner when Desi was allowed to walk, but definitely by 2018 and needing Soto as Bryce and Werth were out the door. 2019 counted on Robles. After that, Kieboom was supposed to replace Rendon, and there was no internal plan B. Now, there's Alu, who looks like something less than a cornerstone but more probably a utility guy and maybe a regular for a stretch, with Lipscomb and House on the way. There's some multiplicity at other positions, like OF and C. If we are thin anywhere, it would be up the middle, and there's still Garcia and Alu for that near the majors for 2d base. Makes the Made acquisition useful. Hitting on Abrams would be huge.

Clearly he's struggling, but its also kind of impressive that after a year of baseball, he's got this kind of patience.

Seeing that we got a modest haul for Candelario, would rather see someone with a chance of a future with the org play there rather than another rental.  Even if he flops, he deserves another chance, especially with guys like Alu and Jeter Downs being given a shot to prove themselves at the mlb level.   Brady House won't be ready until the middle of next year at the earliest and even then House will be just 22.   Kieboom also has potential to DH where you need someone who can get on base more frequently than Dom Smith, Meneses, or Keibert do.

We've picked up a number of other teams 1st round busts, so if Kieboom is released in spring training it's not a big deal.  Going back a few years though, who would have thought that Spencer Kieboom would have had the better career of the two.

Since we have a giant hole at third, it makes sense to bring keiboom up after he’s built up some confidence and see how he does.

As much as we like Vargas as a fill in, we have to play Kieboom if he healthy and doing anything in the minors

Do we count this as "doing anything?" Like he has not been good.

2-4. He now has a higher OPS in Rochester than Luis Garcia and Darren Baker

Maybe?

A serviceable Kieboom at third next year would certainly be a nice bonus
