With the Yanks going after Manny, I feel their whole presence in the Teix Sweepstakes is just to put pressure on teams to drive up the price so either the Red Sox completely overspend or some other team outspends the Red Sox. The whole situation reeks of a scheme like that. They might throw some offer on the table, but will it be enough to land Teix, especially if he really wants to be close to MD/VA? I don't know. The Yanks and Sox are the two whorehouses of the MLB, no doubt attempting to try and buy another championship in 2009. Teix signing with any other team other than those two would send a fantastic, positive message to the sport.
The O's are on the fringe of dropout. They'll stay in it in hopes that Teix is more interested in a warehouse than what actually goes on in Camden Yards, but really I think they are all out done.
Angels have dropped out.
Right now, I believe it's really down to the Sox and Nats. If the Nats weren't still in this thing or Teix definitely had no interest, Teix would of signed with the Red Sox two weeks ago, hands down. Something is perking his interest to have this drag out so close to Christmas, the time he said he wanted a deal done.
I still predict by 5pm tomorrow (Tuesday) he makes a decision. The Magic 8 Ball said so.
