When it rains it pours, someone busted my chops for misspelling grammar last week on the Nats board.  That's what I get for lurking too long on the Orioles' boards...   ;)

Lyle Spencer reads the MASN blogs as well.
Figures that ESPN hasn't reported about the offer yet. I bet if the Sox had upped their offer it would be all over ESPN as the top story. :?

OK... ASSUMING this really happens... (I don't want to jinx it, lol)
I did buy tickets for the Sunday afternoon game when the Nats played there in '06 and I didn't go because it was in the middle of that Nor'easter when we got 14 inches of rain in 5 days and I was sure it wouldn't be played, but it stopped just long enough that they got the game in and the Nats scored runs in double-digits that day, darn it!

I was there  Great game!

if tex signs here, we should get like 15 of us and all get Tex t-shirts and go start "Go Teix-eira!" chants during the games in Baltimore, just to piss em off

Ditto, that was fricking hilarious.  There might have been a few Orioles fans in my section, but it was not obvious.  And the one guy with an Orioles hat was a Brit in an England jersey still all hopped up from the earlier World Cup quarterfinals game where they beat Ecuador (and who was much more interested in his date--in particular, her bra--than the sloppy mess going on on the field).

Man that was a lot of rain.  I think Rock Creek Park was closed to cars for like 6 weeks due to flood damage.

I was there  Great game!

How about "Mark Teieira"  Both "go" and "mark" are 1 syllable words so it would flow just as well and would sound better, IMO.  Or "We got Tex" could be good too.

My friend got sunburned as all hell through the clouds - then we ate crabs. What a great day that was.

Does anyone believe Teixeira is going to sign with losers such as Baltimore or Washington? So what's the delay?

This kinda stuff pisses me off. I'm not mad at writers or pundits who say this, because it's true! I'm mad that the Lerners have driven this franchise so far underground that it's going to take years to bring them back to respectability. We're paying a huge price because they sat on their hands the past 2 offseasons and were content to dumpster dive for talent.

I would rather dumpster dive for talent than spend money on Carlos Silva or Gil Meche. Sorry but there just wasn't money to be spent the last two off-seasons. This off-season there is and they are trying their best to spend it in the right place.

Possibly the longest sentence in WNFF history.   It's probably close to 75 words.

I'm pretty sure there was a comparable one a few weeks back, because I noted it as you have done.  The poster?  Bags.

While I said Silva was a crapbag from the very first, I think Meche is a pretty good pitcher.

Flowed pretty well though, don't ya think?  LOL  Tomterp will be disappointed that you beat him to the punch.

Haha, I called a penalty on you recently for "excessive sentence length", a 15 yarder, too.

Oh please. If you don't think there were any free agents worth pursuing then say so but don't try and tell us what the Lerners can and can't afford as if you're his accountant and have personal knowledge of his bottom line. Forbes Magazine has already come out and said the Nats were the most profitable baseball team so the money is there as Tex and a few national sports pundits are now discovering.

If we get Tex, does that mean we won't go after O-Dog too?
I saw it mentioned in the Mailbag that we really like Hudson. Lodson didn't say that was only if Tex didn't sign with us.

I hope we don't go after O-Dog.  Wrist injuries are difficult to come back 100% from.

You feel comfortable with Anderson Hernandez and Belliard?
I hope Hernandez tears it up like he is doing down in the Dominican, but I have my doubts.

Which was 15 yards, the length of sentence or the penalty?

You know that the Yankees will sign one of them and will talk seriously about getting both. That’s why the Red Sox can’t afford to sit by and do nothing. The Yankees have already significantly upgraded their pitching rotation, and they’re determined to add life to their line-up.

If he's right he will be heralded as the worlds greatest genius.

Judging by this picture he's a bum they found outside the office, and then let him write an article.
