I have.

It starts off slow, but pretty good; very cerebral and gritty. Then, they introduce a very forced antagonist and devolves in to a silly slasher/thriller debacle. Great special effects though.

thanks i plan on checking it out soon.

gotta get some movies out of the way and catch up on tv shows before baseball season starts.

Sunshine isn't a very good movie. Still, I suppose it is watchable.

Vega... I agree with you... the last third of the movie is a big WTF.

also has anyone seen the movie, Sunshine?  It came out in 2007?

Yeah. I recommended it to you probably a year ago. I enjoyed it. While the ending may be a toss up between people (because it definitely goes off into another direction) I still enjoyed every minute of it. It could possibly be one of my favorite movies. The soundtrack and acting was damn good in it.

Another direction is putting it nicely.

Its like this... movie going one way... hmm, lets splice another movie entirely into the film 2/3 of the way in... hope no one notices!

I mean I'm fine with the sudden move it took since it still fit in with the story (sort of) and it was entertaining. It definitely shouldn't have been there though but I guess they felt they needed a huge climax or something. That act did contain two of the best scenes in the movie though:

(hammonds don't read)

Capa's scene where he jumps from ship to payload with the score that everyone uses now. The other scene is when he sets off the payload in the sun and it looks like space and time are meeting while he is in the middle.

I love Cillian Murphy. So I'll watch pretty much anything he's in.

I didn't hate Sunshine... it just wasn't what I expected by the time they got to the climax.

It was as if they decided halfway through filming that needed to add an antagonist, which was unnecessary. The enormity of the task they were trying to accomplish should have been the antagonist, not a severely sunburned nutcase. Speaking of which, I never understood how the aforementioned nutcase would have even been able to survive for years and years with his entire outer layer of skin burnt to a literal crisp. I heavily doubt that is physically possible. It certainly didn't fit in a movie that went out of it's way to be as realistic and plausible as possible.

Lincoln Lawyer's actually playing here. Cast looks awesome - Marisa Tomei, William H. Macy, John Leguizamo, Bryan Cranston - is it worth what I'm assuming will be an hour of Matthew McConaughey taking his shirt off to see this?

Apollo 18 looks stupid, hammonds. :lmao: It's not what you think

Saw Sucker Punch. Some cool and interesting crap, kind of Black Swan-esque but it didn't work quite as well. 6/10

Gave Lincoln Lawyer a 7/10. Really enjoyed it.

Excited to see "Source Code" and "Hop" coming out this Friday.

yeah cmd has been talking about it for some time and i kinda like those movies.  cillian murphy is one of my favorite actors, so i agree.  i hear the ending is a bit like event horizon, kinda like oh crap.

and SF, let me have my guilty pleasure.  i like those cloverfield type of movies every once in a while.  i thought the trailer looked good.  but can't believe they pushed it back 8 months.

the movie i'm most psyched for this year is super 8.  although i'm sure i'll be greatly disappointed.

That's too bad. I know you were just as excited as I was to see it. If you didn't like it all that much, I doubt I will either.

Looked creppy to me. Then again, I avoid even remotely scary movies at all cost. So what's creepy to me is not creepy to most.

no but weinstein came out and said "we found actually footage, we found it" at a press conference.  that crap pisses me off.

i love viral marketing (cloverfield, super 8 and most especially dark knight), but to take it that far to say it's real.  like blair witch - the web wasn't as popular as it was today - so lot of people thought the film was actually real thru word of mouth.  nowadays, you would be able to tell right away.

as far as the movie goes, i'm sure the acting is going to be poor (two no-name actors) and we'll see some of the same played out plot lines ... but i kinda like the premise of it.  i remember the first teaser trailer for transformers, it was something like this.  same goes for super 8.

Sucker Punch was just...weird.  awesome, but weird. it was basically a weird live-action video game.

my girl really enjoyed it too though.

I know I've said this a couple of times on this board but Head of State is an awesome movie.

"I asked my niece the other day what was 4 + 4 - she said 44"... (random guy in crowd) "It IS!"
