Four Brothers was a surprisingly strong movie.

Wait, what is this Smokin' Aces thing?  It has Chris Pine from Star Trek?

Yeah, you'd have a hard time recognizing him, though.

LOL.

To add,

Smokin Aces is about a bounty on a Vegas entertainer (Jeremy Piven)

Seven groups are looking to get the bounty and they all converge on a hotel in Tahoe for a bloody shootout.

Affleck, Pine, Reynolds, Andy Garcia, Ray Liotta, Jason Batmen, Common, Matthew Fox, Nestor Carbonell, Alicia Keys, Chris Durand (Keamy from Lost)

Great cast, super violent. Lots of fun.

Affleck is in the criminally underrated Smokin Aces.

Great shoot 'em up flick.

Affleck has come out of nowhere to be fantastic on both sides of the camera the last few years.

I know it had really corny parts. I mean REALLY corny parts, but it was the only one out of the 3 that I felt was actually decent. The corny parts never really bothered me. 3 was absolute crap and 1 was an okay intro to the series... Can't say much though.

And if you didn't know, they are rebooting Spiderman soon with Andrew Garfield as Spiderman (the dude from social network).

Didn't realize they were already on this.  Could be interesting.  I might give them my money just for getting Tobey out of the mix.

Is it finally the last one, or is that the tag they're using to get people to come out to the theater?

I'm pretty sure it's the last one. I bet they kill off everyone.

I haven't watched one since Saw 3.  Have the rest been up to snuff with the original "trilogy?"

5 was pretty bad, couldn't tell what the hell was going on because the principal leads look very much alike. 4 was pretty clever, and 6 was campy but fun, probably the best since 3. The 3D aspect has me intrigued.

Same with me. I never really attempted to go out and see the other 3-4 or however many there are. I was furious that they killed off Donny Walberg who did one of the most badass things in the 3rd film. The series should've just ended with him killing everyone.

I don't get why people crap on Spiderman.  I thought all three films were fine in their own ways, and I really had no problem with the length of the third or the emotional scenes.  God forbid there should be any range to a character.  Sure the way they portrayed it was occasionally hamfisted but so what?  Spiderman is meant to be tad campy.  Not '60s Batman level, but just a bit.

Batman Begins and Dark Knight are every bit as "bad" in that respect, but I guess because the tone is dark and brooding instead of colorful and self-aware, it's okay.

I don't think Dark Knight is campy at all.

It's pretty much a crime drama with guys in tights.

Spiderman 3 is one of my most hated movies of all time.

Raimi freaked up the series, and Venom, big time with that movie.

And this is coming from a guy that adores Raimi for his work on Evil Dead and For Love of the Game (most realistic baseball movie out there, in terms of on-field action... I mean come on, who didn't say 'Clear the mechanism' the next time they took the mound after seeing that movie?).

I like 1-2 a lot. 2 more than any of them because to me, it was an actual good film all around. 3 was just dumb IMO. I loved the plot but it just had so many flaws. I mean, come on, Peter Parker becomes Venom (which is one of the best superhero villain stories ever) but instead of showing deep and dark stuff, Peter becomes an emo hispter who goes to a jazz club and dances on tables? I don't get it.

Also, I'm not expecting Spiderman to go the new Batman route (dark and dramatic) but atleast keep the 3rd one on the same path as 1 and 2. I wonder if the new Spiderman reboot will be dark and dramatic.

Tobey cried, then was sad, then cried some more.  That's not range to a character.  He was a whiny emo nag the entire time.  The villains carried those films but the 3rd was damn near unwatchable.  It seemed like someone was crying, about every little thing, in every single situation.  Just laughable.

Batman Begins showed a side of Batman not seen on the screen but the movie itself seems merely okay on later viewings to me.  Dark Knight was phenomenal.  The change from Katie Holmes to Maggie Gyllenhal made a big difference.  Aaron Eckhart did a really good job with Harvey Dent.  Of course the Joker character can legitimately be considered one of the most memorable villains of all time.  The disappearing pencil scene was better than all three Spiderman movies by itself.  Way more than just dark/brooding going on in that one.

I do wish Bale would drop the stupid growling voice as Batman.  It's just weird and so forced that it detracts from the films.

I was talking about the boo-hoo emo crap, not the camp.  I thought that was pretty clear

On review, both of you completely missed the point, but whatever.  I can appreciate a wider range of filmmaking than you two, apparently

Grow a sense of humor and try re-watching Spiderman 3?

At least we agree on something.  Too bad they just brought her in to kill her off :?

crap, I didn't read your response all that well.

Another thing about Spiderman 3.

What the freak was Sandman all about? Boo hoo, my daughter is sick, so I'll steal... but I really have a heart of gold.

Then, after I've done a ton of damage and crap, Spiderman will let me go because he really knows I'm a good guy and I'll eventually change my ways.

LAME.

I did enjoy people laughing at the crying scenes in Spiderman 3 in the theater I watched it in.  Added to a handful of people booing during the film, it was an odd experience.  Probably not the opening night response they were going for.
