Four runs if you're Ramos today. :mg:

down 3 runs we had 1 guy get on base. Not sure how you hit a 3-run homer that wayy

Yes, I agree. The Nats would have have needed two runners on base to hit a three-run homer.

For everyone upset about MW not pulling Scherzer after giving up the 4th run, what would it have mattered? You saw what the pen did the next two inninings.

People were roasting me in the game thread for having this opinion, even though I said I would have probably pinch hit for Scherzer there. The roster construction has serious issues for must-win games, you're between a rock and a hard place. Good teams are shortening the game with elite bullpens, we're prolonging them with awful sixth and seventh inning options. I mean Williams went matchup the entire seventh inning and they all got beat :lmao: Some of this goes back to the Stammen injury but Rizzo had time to address it.

That said, Williams could have brought in Fister in the sixth who probably would have been better than the seventh inning clown car. Also, I pinch hit for him unless I think Scherzer can do two innings. To blow an opportunity just to stall one inning...

When we fans get together and call for the firings of managers, etc. we often forget that these are human beings. Matt Williams has a wife and kid and two ex-wives.

and between his playing and managerial earnings plus payout for his incompetency, he will earn more than this entire forum put together (unless we have some secret CEO's in here )

If Matt Williams does get fired who do you guys want us to sign as his replacement? I would love Maddon but we are a year to late. What about Ron Washington? Yeah I know he has had some off the field issues but who the freak cares. We need someone with experience not a rookie like Matt.

Agree with Rizzo, Matt was doing a masterful job.  And completely agree with MW's comments during in the post-game interview.   It's the weather's fault for letting the balls fly out of the park.    And also for requiring four pitchers to get three outs.

Terrence from the Nat Pack would have this team closer to the Mets than Williams does.

Ron Washington? Dude have you ever watched baseball. I mean I love the fact he doesn't mind a bit of flour power every now and then but he could almost be as bad as williams

No thanks. Look at what the Astros have become AFTER they fired the guy.

Doesn't matter unlike Matt he took his team to the world series. And I'm pretty sure that team was less talented than this Nats team.

Ron Washington makes Matt Williams look like Einstein, Newton, and Shakespeare rolled into one.  Ron Washington is one of the 2 or 3 dumbest managers of the last decade.  No, no, no, no, no.

I want Randy Knorr but I'm afraid he'd want to keep the rest of the coaching staff.

I guess we aren't getting LaRusa.  How about Brenley even though he's another AZ guy?  Otherwise, an ex-catcher.

That's the problem. Anyone who has MLB experience also has been fired by at least one team. Here's who's available off the top of my head:

Ron Gardenhire
Bud Black
Rick Renteria
Sandy Alomar, Jr
Mike Redmond
Ron Roenicke
Rick Renteria
Dusty Baker
Ron Washington
Jim Tracy
Ryne Sandberg
Bobby Valentine
Jim Riggleman
Bo Porter
Manny Acta
Eric Wedge
Ozzie Guillen
Davey Johnson
Larry Bowa
Ron Washington
Kirk Gibson

None of those really impress me.

Like you mentioned none is impressive on that list. And since you put Ron Washington twice Im guessing you agree with me that he's the best available :D
