If there were two strikes, it counts as Jansen's at-bat if the pinch-hitter strikes out. Otherwise, the outcome (hit, walk, fielded out) is charged to the pinch hitter.
I think the Jansen game has broken Fangraphs. None of yesterday's games have been added yet.
I put $10 on Oakland before the season to exceed 57.5 wins. They are already at 58. Should have bet more.
Not MLB but no other good place for this: The Richmond Flying Squirrels will FINALLY break ground on a new ballpark on Friday.
They've actually built several stadiums, but they bury them in the ground and hope to find them when they need to play.
I often hear people saying that Richmond would be the ideal location for the Nats' AAA affiliate, but is there any plausible path toward that actually happening?
well if the Nats march down through Fredricksburg and encircle Richmond then perhaps…
So in the AL looks like the wild card race is already over. In the NL look 4 teams for three spots. Boring. Cmon Manfred. Add more teams!
North Carolina should definitely have a team. Also, Seattle is pretty much up there by themselves. Seems like there should be another team up there. Not sure if Portland could support a team.
