Tigers have demoted 2020 #1 pick Spencer Torkelson. Hitting .201 / .596 in just over 200 PAs this year and .138 / .470 in his last 15.

crap...the Nats would have him batting cleanup...

Nightengale posts that Marcano only bet $150k, and has ruined his career.  Marcano bet on 25 Pirates games when he was on the team but injured, and lost every bet.

The others all bet on games not involving themselves and on teams they weren't on.

Some left named Koenig.  To get Schwarber and Harper in his one inning. Worked last night.

They’re really trying to pump up the Mets in the Fox broadcast today. When they are not talking about the Yankees. Would not know they are 27-35. Bet ESPN can outdo them tomorrow.

When so many of the announcers come from the same schools and pools, it really can get echo chambery

Realmuto undergoing knee surgery. He's valuable at the plate but also one of the best behind it.

There are reports that the White Sox want a "Juan Soto-like" package for 26 year old CF Luis Robert who is currently hitting .192 with a .755 OPS.

Dude on the MLB channel just said when Trea Turner came up with the Nationals he was a center fielder. I don't think so. He also said in the old days a guy like Abrams with his side would go to center field.

Nationals in the national media -- 2016

Rizzo talked more Nationals matters on the podcast of ESPN.com’s Buster Olney. In addition to providing some more thoughts about Strasburg and Harper, more from an on-field than a contractual perspective, Rizzo spoke at length about top shortstop prospect Trea Turner. The Nats’ head baseball decisionmaker wouldn’t commit to an Opening Day roster job for the youngster, but also didn’t rule it out, and emphasized that Turner is “not far away from the big leagues” while crediting him not only with 80-grade speed, but also outstanding maturity. As for the deal that brought him to DC, Rizzo tipped his cap to the scouts who helped to identify Turner and Joe Ross as targets within the Padres organization. He explained further: “[W]hen they showed interest in Steven Souza … we made it clear that, you know, we had to have these two players in the trade or we wouldn’t be interested in moving Souza.” The Nats were able to “get[] involved in a three-team trade later in the process” — the Rays, of course, being the organization that ultimately ended up with Souza — to land a return that has looked quite promising ever since the deal was struck.”

He played in CF because the Nats didn't want to move Desi off of SS...

Should of said size lol. He was saying many of the shortstops today are big where as in the old days they would of moved them off short and put them in center field.

Trea may of played center once or twice but I don't think he came up as a center fielder.

He played center far more than once or twice, he played CF 44 of his 73 MLB games in 2016, but he was indeed a SS by trade coming thru the systems...

Espinosa was our SS in 2016 and started 152 games at SS...

I just noticed the Philadelphia Inquirer has an opinion article saying the Phillies should move Trea Turner to left field because he's stunk at shortstop for the last 5 years and his replacement Sosa is an excellent fielder. Sosa's hitting also. I think this would strengthen the Phils big time and that's a bummer.
