The Phillies need to eat some money and trade Turner to a team that can put him in center, or to a team with a big corner OF like Oracle, Fenway, or Yankee.

Tough time for the Dodgers. Yamamoto out with a stained rotator cuff and Betts out with a fractured left hand. I didn't realize Yamamoto's contract was for 12 years. That's really taking a chance on a pitcher. They're dropping life flies these days.

Top of the 9th in Detroit yesterday. Tigers up 2-1, Paul De Jong on first. One out. Andrew Benetendi flies out to CF.

De Jong, thinking there were two outs, had already rounded 2nd when the ball was caught and was thrown out trying to return to first.

Tigers win.

Very embarrassing for the runner and inexcusable but doesn't the first base coach remind him how many outs there are instead of standing there picking his butt. There's not a lot to do for a first base coach you would think he could at least do that.

I've only played / coached little league and played men's softball. And as a base coach, reminding the base runner of the number of outs is one of your primary jobs.

Orelvis Martinez, Toronto's top hitting prospect, made his MLB debut on Friday. He was just suspended 80 games for a PED violation.

He says he was taking a fertility pill prescribed to him by a doctor in the DR as he and his girlfriend are trying to have a child.

I like watching the Mariners broadcasts. They show the results of the previous at bats for the guy up to the played along with the edit velocity on each one. They also have a camera on a wire down the LF line that they show periodically including when the pitcher is holding a runner on 1B. Root Sports.

I was watching the game from Seattle last night and I saw they had a manual scoreboard like Fenway. I never knew there was another stadium like that.
