They had to include Bell to get Susana. So Bell was the sweetener

was mentioned in Talk Nats comments that he has had a very high GB/FB ratio (between 5 and 6 to 1) but has come back a little to closer to 3:1. He also has an extreme BABIP (.389). The suggestion was earlier in the year infield defense at A ball was killing him. This doesn't explain last year when his GB/FB was 1.89, and ignores the BB problem for much of this year, but it is something to watch, along with the BBs. A good place with Susana would be to get the BBs low, maintain a high GB/FB ratio, and ignore groundball defense problems causing BABIP damage.

His FIP was good even before this month, so it suggests he was still doing a lot of things right but just not getting the results. Definitely took it to another level in June though.

he's been going 5 innings his last 4 starts, so they are starting to let him go normal start length.

Hard to believe given how long Susana has been talked about and how we think of Sykora as so young, but Susana was born 3/23/04, while Sykora was born 4/28/04.

it's going to be fun watching Susana and Sykora develop in parallel. This stretch is the first time Susana has shown he could live up the hype when we got him.
