Susana was the most precarious part of the Juan Soto trade return and had a mediocre strikeout performance in 2023 even though his stuff is really nasty-looking.
Started tonight's opener for Fredricksburg: 3IP, 2H, 1R, 0ER, 4Ks, 0BBsBest start in I can't remember how long.
3 IP last night with 3 ER.How long do they keep letting him try to start before accepting he may end up a reliever?
Going to end up a great reliever.
Yes. And that would make the Soto trade an all-time great trade. Something like trading Claude Osteen to the Dodgers for Frank Howard, Ken McMullen, Pete Richert, and Phil Ortega. Richert had dynamite stuff, but the Nats traded him to Baltimore for Mike Epstein. The Osteen trade built the Senators into a respectable baseball team.
That trade made the Senators a team that was losing 100 games a year to losing in the 80's and 90's, which is a nice improvement. Ted Williams rookie year managing the Senators turned them into a good team, for one year.
