To me 175+ IP is a full season for a starter, I'd actually rather have them hit the DL for a week or two to skip a couple to rest up than push to 200 IP non-stop. 200 IP to me is a workhorse.

He's pitched 175 IP 3 times in his career. Durable? No. But he's pitched a full season at an elite level and saying he hasn't is a lie.

The general consensus here was that those sucked as well...
So if you have to pick suckage, you pick the one that costs less

Who is "us" kemosabe?     :)
And it still goes on and on and on!

I’m going to start now on bringing Gio back. Good price. Lots of quality starts. Or at least the ones that last four innings.

It is pretty good for a snowy day here in the DMV.    Gotta admit.

A couple weeks on the DL is fine. Last year was much more than that. Let’s hope it’s not a trend.

One season in 9 - 2014?  You seem pretty butthurt over this issue so I'll just leave it alone now, but I think you missed the point...and I don't recall anyone saying he'd never pitched a full season...

I don't follow the science.    If he's not durable and hasn't been available, how has he been elite for a full season?    We can all agree he's elite (mostly) when he's available.

14-11 season with 3.14 ERA is elite these days...or I guess it was in 2014...

People were saying they would love if they could see a full season of elite strasburg, when we already have seen that from him.

9th in the Cy Young voting, led the league in strikeouts, I mean we're splitting hairs and people just want reasons to hate Strasburg and call him weak or whatever but the facts are that he has shown he can be one of the league's best over a full season, even if people want to mindfact that he hasn't.

I wish he could stay healthy more often because we know it's possible. Guy is just going to always be a "get 25-28 starts of very good, sometimes elite, maybe we get lucky and get 30 starts."

I'm one of those guys.    I think we may be pickin' the white out of chicken crap.    We all think he's elite.    I guess our definition of a full season varies.    For me, being there on the first day and then being there on the last day does not make a full season.    I like regular starts in between.   Regular (like Max) is the key thing for me in the definition of a "full season".     Must be the damned snow makin' us quibble.

I think it can go on until he is signed somewhere...

All I know is that the Nats offer of $300/10 is off the table, so they can just move on if they choose to...
