Pretty much, though Hrod's stuff is way nastier and I don't really think his problem is between his ears like Gas Can Hanrahan. Hanrahan had a million dollar arm and a 10 cent head, HRod I think is all about mechanics (or lack thereof) and "figuring it out" at this point ... at least, that's the way I see it.

Who could have foreseen that he would have gone from freaking godawful to what he turned out to be? He couldn't hit a bull's ass with a handful of rice.

It's not like Marquis was in anybody's future rotation. He had a good first half, but getting something for him is better than having a marginally better record this year.

I didn't realize that Hairston and Marquis were such integral core components of our next championship club.

Honestly, how could anyone possibly object to getting rid of the vets we have whose contracts are up at the end of the season, if we can get something with potential future value?

It's a complete no-brainer to me. And if we can make another deal - and yes, this may mean either Clippard or Storen - to improve the club further, than by all means do it. It's not like we're breaking up the '24 Nats.

I understand what you're saying, Tom, and I couldn't disagree more. I'm disguisted with this organization. They have essetially signalled that they are discarding the remainder of the season, with a third yet to play. They are going to lose much of the fanbase they have painstakingly built. And for what? To save two months of Marquis salary? They are treating their fans like garbage.

If we trade either Clippard or Storen we need big league talent not more A or AA prospects that we will trade in 3-4 years. Perhaps I should by Cheifs season tickets?
