The only way to ensure that is to put Desmond in AAA. Manager fills out the lineup card.

I just don't see Riggs benching Guzie or platooning him at 2B with Kennedy.

Yep. It's a financial decision. Riggleman has little to no say on what is going to happen.

I don't believe any of that crap. Just like how he or Rig said that the decision to put DS and SS on the 25-man roster would have nothing to do with their "clock starting" (i.e. money). BS

They should field the team that gives us the best chance of winning. Money be damned.

I don't think it necessarily has to do with money, I just don't think "old school" Riggs is going to "disrespect" a vet like that, even if he really likes Desmond.
