Blue was the first to notice it in some ST photos from the WP, I just provided some commentary.  We will have to wait and see what his mechanics look like in a game situation, but the physics of the idea make it less than ideal for him to use the drive and drop.  The greatest advantage a pitcher has over a batter is that he is throwing downhill off the mound and the greatest advantage Bally has over other pitchers is his height.  Drive and drop takes away both of these.

Twitter should make these games a lot easier to follow than prior years.

Spring training radio schedule.

I remember last year that some of these games that were streamed online through local radio websites were only available to MLB audio subscribers, does anyone know if that is the case again this year?

Here's the link for the Astro's station - I know people have gotten it to work free in the past . . .

Won't load for me right now.

It's on iheartradio, so I'm going to tune in on my FiOS box.

Rotoworld is suggesting that Bruney should be cut if he doesn't pitch well in ST. Team would only owe him 375K of the 1.5 he was supposed to make this year.

Quote
Brian Bruney allowed two runs in his inning versus the Marlins on Thursday.

Bruney thinks he should be the Nationals' closer this year. We think he should be battling just to make the team. He is due a $1.5 million salary, but the Nats could cut him at the end of March and only owe him a quarter of that if they so choose.

That's interesting.  Maybe it'd be for the better considering how sulky he seemed about the arbitration hearing.

there's a bad off season for you. Win a ring, then get dealt for nothing, then loose arbitration, then get cut by the last place team in baseball

Rotoworld has the same world-class sources as MLBTradeRumors, i.e. none AFAIK. Reports from people on site have been positive for Bruney, his first appearance in ST means nothing to me.

They're aggregators with their own opinions, kind of like every other sports site where the majority of the articles cite to local papers, yahoo.com, or foxsports.com. The only place that really just rambles without any underlying research is ESPN

I'm new to tracking spring training. Are starting pitchers likely to go again in 4 or 5 days even though only pitching a couple of innings at a time? (Assuming they do get to continue).

JD had a good line, but I was still trying to listen for free at that point.

Free is always good. I'm tempted to get the MLB internet package, but I think my wife would kill me!

20 for the year? It saves time puttering with my long distance AM set, so I caved.
