I'm new to tracking spring training. Are starting pitchers likely to go again in 4 or 5 days even though only pitching a couple of innings at a time? (Assuming they do get to continue).
Usually the first two pitchers  in the game are who they are looking at for a spot in the rotation. With Split Squad games and such they could have a 3-5 day turn around on the starters and the relievers could go more often because they only threw 1 inning each. After the Strasburg game on the 9th you will see the starters going 2-3 innings then towards the end of ST they stretch them out to 5 innings.

Just an update on Balester.  His HR was wind aided as most of the Marlins and Stros HR's were. No excuses, just the facts. We needed to get the ball in the air too and we would have scored so many more runs. Don't look too much into giving up a bunch of runs ...yet! Most of our top tier pitchers gave up ground balls as compared to flyballs which is what we need.
Bally was the only Nats pitcher with 2 K's during his 2 innings even though he did give up 2 BB's.

I think using the wind in an argument is labeled as an excuse and Stan Kasten said we wouldn't have those this season.

Wil Nieves delivered the wind excuse in the latest post of the Nationals Journal. I think that is officially the first excuse of the season.

Congratulations, Wil Nieves!

At Nats.com Riggleman was having none of it. He said you strike em out or put the ball on the ground.

Thats what I said. There are no excuses and the guys know it! I said it because none of us where there to see the routine fly balls get blown out of then park. Believe me I am tired of excuses too! Don't give up Hr's, don't pitch up in the zone, don't strike out when hitting ,  don't make errors etc...

I just find it funny an excuse has been said this early.

I wish it was more creative. The ole' wind excuse is getting old. I like the "Guy Behind Homeplate With A Laser Pointer" excuse myself.

The batter farted and the stench was so horrendous it broke my concentration.

As a Nats fan I am upset. As a family member I am proud. As a WNFF poster I am disgusted and as a Spring Training watcher I still have tons of hope for the Nationals. The players performance on the field will dictate who should go to DC , who should be in " The Cuse" and who should be shown the door! That will be the easy part of managing the Nats for Riggleman.

I've seen the Nats have guys go 2, 3,4,5 innings in perfect sequence leading up to the start of the season.  At some point, they start having to prune guys to be able to have the survivors go the additional innings.  Though, we're under totally different leadership now.

Sat-Tuesday are going to be busy days for me. I hope I don't have too much work on Monday and Tuesday. Tuesday's game is going to be on MASN, so I could always record it.

Spring training is so weird because the games really don't matter at all and no one acts like they do. There isn't even a crazy Spurrier type manager trying to go undefeated in Spring Training. When judging these games someone can only judge individual perfomances. The two starters did their job and Storen looked good. That is good news for spring games.

With that being said I hope every member of this team is disapointed and angry and wants to win even worse now. Saying it is early now is one thing but we better not be hearing the same thing May 20th.

I don't believe the "Spring Training means nothing" speech anyone gives. ST is very valuable as a primer, gauging individual performances and seeing what combination of players work with each other. The first half of ST is just evaluating, but the last half is where they start letting the blocks fall into place to form the foundation of the team. That is when it truly begins to mean something.

I don't think you could actually find them until approximately the start of the game.  For example, you won't find a Friday game if you do your searching on Thursday  :?

They are listed in the schedule.
