@cmdterps - I actually got 50+ hours out of both games.  But then I'm also a very thorough completionist.  All the DLC for the second game would probably add a solid ~10 hours extra, too.

True about the second game. I let my friend borrow it after I beat it in a week and logged many hours...

I haven't had a chance at a second play through since my friend has had it 3x longer than I have. He says he will play it but he will give it back since he hasn't. He started it but would play it on and off every other week so he was really lost. I have other games to play (wow, madden, nba, halo etc) so I don't need to but I plan on getting it back and playing all the DLC.

How much is ME1 for PC nowadays?  I might just pick it up since it's been so long since I played it on 360, and I can get freshened up on the story for ME2.

Both 1 and 2 are available for 20 bucks (each).  1 has two DLCs that are a few bucks each, but you aren't missing much if you pass on them, IMO.  2 has a quite a bit of DLC that add new weapons, armors, and characters to the game, as well as advancing the story a bit more - the devs have stated that they plan to continue advancing the story via DLC releases until ME3 comes out.  Fortunately about half of the DLCs for 2 are free as long as you are the original owner of the game.  The others range from 2-3 bucks to 6-7 bucks apiece.  That said, my entire first playthrough of the second game was without any DLC, and I didn't feel like I was "missing" anything, so it's more of a "bonus content" thing than an absolute must-have.

Fallout 3 GOTY edition is pretty good too if you're looking for another PS3 recommendation.

Good luck finding AAA sports games that run on Mac OS.  I'm honestly surprised they even make them for PC anymore, considering how console-centric such franchises are these days.  The Show is PS3 only, isn't it?

So, was over at a friends house last night... and he tells me he bought 2K11 for 360.

We start playing, and I fall in love.

What an amazing game. This is coming from a guy that doesn't like basketball video games, and in general, doesn't enjoy the NBA.

We ended up playing three games, all three going down to the wire and now, I'm hooked.

The play felt realistic, guards quickly cutting with the ball, hitting open jumpers... fowards and Centers playing rough around the basket... calling plays as a PG was awesome, especially when I set a play for Steph Curry as he curled off two defenders with a pick and hit a silky smooth 3 ball.

I loved as the games got tighter, the crowd got louder and louder to the point that is was starting to get me hyped.

As I said, I don't even like basketball games... but 2k11 was so much fun, I think I'm going to have to buy it.

What I wouldn't give for just one year without another recycled CoD/MoH game.

Actually this MOH game was the first game in at least a few years, was their first modern game on next-gen as far as I can tell.

And at least this year's COD installment is a little different with Vietnam, it sounds like it's less of the bullcrap of MW2 and more back to WaW and MW.

It cut down on the massive mess MW2 has with all of the nukes, chopper gunners, and crap like that. They are introducing new guns that seem like even more bullcrap (a ballistic knife and an RC car  ) I can see it still being a pain. I'd like to give it a try though.

Has anyone tried out any of the free MMORPGs?  I downloaded Runes of Magic last night, it seems pretty cool other than the fact that it looks like in order to get decent gear later on and things like mounts, you have to buy them.  For instance, a "permanent" mount (some are 7 day or 30 day) it costs 200+ "diamonds" which for 200 diamonds it costs $9.50

I'm downloading 4Story now.  If nothing else, the music in the youtube video that plays in the lower corner of the home page makes me think it will be awesome.  Seriously, the music is awesome.
