That's what we accepted w/ the young QB. Oh well, friggin tough loss. Can't blame this on any one player.

unbelievable.. I'm just in disbelief.. I will not be defending Jason ever again.  He just crumbles under pressure every damn time.  We have had a chance two weeks in a row and he has thrown 3 picks. I am so ****ing mad right now... 6 ****ing turnovers.. Are you ****ing kidding me??  If we cut those in half we win by 10.

I thought, immediately after that loss, "well, that sucked, now let me go see what sportsfan has to say about this.  That'll probably cheer me up, since I can't possibly be as angry as he."

I was right.

I agree, though.  F- that game.  Campbell is a CHOKER. :hang:

too late now... The season is now over.  My predictions made after the GB game have been dead on:
Yep that's what I meant.  Of course they have to win the game but it's not a statement game like today's game was or the New England game will be.  We've beat a winless Miami team, an overrated Lions team, and an over the hill Eagles team.

Here's how I see the rest of the season playing out:
VS Cardinals Win (Win)
@ Patriots Loss (Loss)
@ Jets Win (Win)
VS Eagles Loss (Loss)
@ Cowboys Loss (Loss)
@ TB Loss  (Loss)
VS Bills Win
VS Bears Loss
@ Giants Loss
@ Vikings Win
VS Cowboys Loss
= 7-9
Keeping right on pace for a mediocre 7-9 season.

I just don't see how that Bears offense will score on us. I think we definitely win that one. I don't think Hester can beat us on his own. I also think that we're just a flat out better team than the Giants...and we'll win that one, too. 9-7 sounds about right. Hopefully we win more, though :).

There's something cosmically wrong with this team.  Something will always go wrong, at the most inopportune time.  It's uncanny, really.

You can pretty much bank on it.  :icon_frown:

I don't know why this cosmic entity can't feed on something other than Redskin misery.   :(

Queue the video I just posted... I just hope they can win one ****ing game.  It is going to be a miracle if we beat the Bills this week.  Why can the defense and offense both not be playing well in the same week?? That's ridiculous.  One week the offense is rolling and the D sucks (last week against Dallas) and the next week the offense sucks and the D is unstoppable (this week).

Wow, look at how sorry the NFC is.  If the Redskins had won either last week or this week or 2 weeks ago against Philly we would be sitting in great playoff position.. But no we can't even get 1 ****ing win.  We are tied with about 5 other garbage teams behind the Lions for the last playoff spot.

That's an interesting point. I'm a big believer that the coach's attitude is shown through the players' performances. I think we play intimidated A LOT. That's Gibbs for ya! If he thinks a certain player is REALLY good, he fears them, and it shows in the game. We were intimidated by Dallas' offense, but not the Bucs, and look what happens. Some players deserve more respect than others, but not fear. The Patriots really don't have the MOST talent overall, but they're taught to believe that they are the best. What better way is there? And why aren't we doing that? Until we think that way, we won't be a dominator. We may win some games, but we'll never be a top tier team until we get a better General.

QFT I always expect something bad to happen at the worst possible time. The entire organization is flawed from top to bottom.

While I don't disagree with that general sentiment, I can't blame Gibbs for this game. His wife finally let him take his balls to work and the team let him down. They get beat one on one (all over the field) all the time at the worst times and the result is demoralizing losses. Going for it on 4th and 1 was the right call but the OL failed to execute. I'm sick of people talking about Redskins football considering the Redskins are not configured to be a smash mouth football team. They get beat at both sides of the line of scrimmage more often than not. They constantly leave themselves no room for error and it always comes back to haunt them. They have no true playmakers.

Which is WHY you TAKE the field goal in the 4th and 1 situation, especially against a team like the Buccaneers, that may only give up field goals.  (The old Gibbs won games with field goals, with a kicker named Mark Mosley.)  If they got the chip shot at 4th and 1, then at the end of the game, the Redskins could have tied it with a field goal, instead of throwing against a team that knew they had to pass, the best time for interceptions (ask Mark Ripien.)  The momentum was on the Redskins side, and the Buccaneers couldn't move the ball in the second half (since the Redskins defense was on the bench almost the whole time.)

Pretty much dominated the TOP in the first half, but we need to get a TD or two when in the red zone. That defense of the Bills is a lot better than I thought. I should have figured, though, w/ their record being respectable coming in.

Got a question for you guys.  When and Why did Sean Taylor change his jersey number from 36 to 21?  I've seen a few shots in these tributes with him with a 36 Jersey.

Campbell is really disappointing me.. But it's hard to get too critical of him because the offensive line is just DREADFUL.

I think everyone already knows this but the Redskins Defensive Line is by far the worst in the NFL.. It's really disgusting how little pressure they get

He preferred it from the beginning. Fred Smoot had it when Taylor first came here, so he had to take another number. When Smoot left for his short stint w/ the Vikings, Taylor took it.

For the good of the team, Gibbs needs to step down at the end of the season.  As much as it pains me to say it, he has lost it.  He has become way too charitable in his old age.  Once again another game where after taking the lead he reverts to conservative play calling and plays not to lose on offense.  Most coaches would have taken a hint earlier in the season, but he still thinks this is the NFL of the 80's.

Dear Joe Gibbs,

Please retire. You don't even know the NFL rules anymore.  You cannot take consecutive timeouts.  MORON!  When the team returns from the memorial service in Florida, just drop Gibbs off in North Carolina.  He remains a stupid, clueless old man, who has no business on an NFL field anymore.  Just forfeit the game to the Bears...  Gibbs didn't quit in games in the 1980s.  His team broke the record for points scored in a season.

Gibbs post game interview: "I think I cost us the game."
