OT: OMG! It's disgusting what Tom Brady's doing in the 1st half today.

God what an awful first half.. The defense is ok but the offense is laughable.  Should be up by 14 at the very least instead it is 8.  The D is worn out because the offense can't sustain a long drive.

I've never been so disappointed in my life.. An average team beats the Cardinals by 3 TDs today.  If we play like this next week in New England we will lose by at least 30, no joke at all.  The offense is probably one of the worst in the NFL. I guess we could have loss but this is probably the ugliest win imaginable.

NE SHOULD BE 30 POINTS FAVORITES. I HAVE BEEN SAING IT SINCE THE SECOND GAME. THIS TEAM IS NOT A PLAYOFF CALIBER TEAM. SAD TO SAY BUT THE GAME HAS GONE PAST ALL THE OLD TIMER COACHES. THE DEFENSE HAS BEEN REAL GOOD ALL YEAR. OFFENSE SUCKS. CAMPBELL IS GOING TO BE A GREAT QB BUT HE CANT DO IT ALONE. WHY DID THEY NOT HAVE ANYBODY COVERING THE KICK? PREVENT DEFENSE SUCKS AND THAT GOES FOR MARYLAND ALSO AND ANYBODY THAT USES PREVENT DEFENSES.

A win is a win but I've never felt this bad over a victory. This team does not look good. At times they seem ill prepared and badly coached. With the currently configured OL the offense often looks like it did when Brunell was at the helm. They are predictable because the coaches are scared or don't trust the players they have up front.

I lost the picture signal when there were 20 seconds left. With this team, I really thought there was a strong possibility we might lose! I drew a thankful "whew" when the pic came back!

It was a very stupid and costly penalty but I haven't seen a defensive performance like Fletcher put out today in quite a while.  Not only did he have the interception return, he made several great tackles.  He is one of the few free agents that the Redskins have gotten in recent times that is actually worth it.  The LBs and Secondary are outstanding.  However, I am still very peeved with the d-line.  They get absolutely no pressure on opposing QBs.  Warner had all day to throw today.  The one time we did get pressure we caused a fumble.  I have no idea why we don't blitz more either.

As I said he is awesome. Not barking at the other team will make him awesome-er.

That was ridiculous, though. Fletcher, who rarely celebrates, has just an incredible game, makes a huge play and celebrates, and he gets an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty. EVERYONE celebrates after making plays like he did. IMO, that penalty was unwarranted and seemed like just a chance for the refs to have more of an influence on the outcome of the game. THANK GOODNESS it didn't!

Fletcher was, by far, the player of the game for us. One of the best individual defensive performances we've seen in a while here.

He and Mike Sellers were respective MVP's.

I wish I had seen this one.  There was talk on the radio that someone's celebration with the fans was mis-interpreted by the ref as "taunting".  Geez, its not as if he took a sharpie out of his sock and signed something or Took his cell phone out and made a phone call!

RADIO OR TV COMMENTATOR SAID HE WAS TAUNTING THE CARDS BENCH
ONE OF MY PET PEEVES....DEFENSIVE PLAYERS ALL OVER THE LEAGUE MAKING A TACKLE, WHICH IS WHAT THEY ARE PAID TO DO, MAKING ARSES OF THEMSELVES AFTER A TACKLE.

It's plain stupid to call a penalty that affects the outcome of a game for something that had nothing to do with the actual game or provided an unfair advantage. I hate the stupid idea that everyone has to react a certain way like we're still in the 1940's. People get fired up and react differently. Fletcher was fired up and was doing nothing more than challenging the Cardinals to continue to bring it.

You make mention of illegals in your post.  Wow, I'm shocked.

I'm not entirely gloom-and-doom because I think this game was somewhat of an anomaly in that this is probably the weakest performance we will see from our O-line for the rest of the year, barring further injury.  With Rabach out and some other guys having puzzling awful performances, I doubt this type of monstrosity will be replicated.

After the game against the Jets:

Quote
Coach Joe Gibbs, who also coached the 1987 team, said the win was "more the look of what I envision Redskins football being."

I really hope Gibbs knew who we were playing last week. That quote makes me believe that he still thinks the style of the late 80's/early 90's is going to work now. If so, we will get owned by any above average offense...including the Eagles.

Joe, THE JETS HAVE THE 4TH WORST RUSH DEFENSE IN FOOTBALL! THE EAGLES HAVE THE 7TH BEST

Yep that's what I meant.  Of course they have to win the game but it's not a statement game like today's game was or the New England game will be.  We've beat a winless Miami team, an overrated Lions team, and an over the hill Eagles team.

Here's how I see the rest of the season playing out:
VS Cardinals Win (Win)
@ Patriots Loss (Loss)
@ Jets Win (Win)
VS Eagles Loss (Loss)
@ Cowboys Loss
@ TB Loss
VS Bills Win
VS Bears Loss
@ Giants Loss
@ Vikings Win
VS Cowboys Loss
= 7-9
I made this post on Oct. 14 after the Green Bay loss.. So far I have guessed every game right. Like I said, this team is what it is.  A 7-9 non-playoff team.
