So if I heard right on the radio this morning, Maryland might lose its basketball coach because the school didn’t want to pay $15k for the team to stay overnight on NYC around Christmas time?  I thought UMD was going to have big pockets once they got to the Big Ten.

You mean the ACC.

No, I mean the SEC.   Half of those teams have no business in the tourney

You’re right. ACC is bad.  Only one team left after the first round.  SEC is 8-6.

Big Ten looks good.

Coach?

George Mason won its first round NIT game. Men’s side. They host Bradley today.

i watched about 10 minutes and he was dominating, though he reminds me too much of Bertans.

I was punning on how he pronounces his last name.

Queen might have moved up the draft board with that shot. And he actually played some defense.

I used to work with someone with a last name like that.  Think it was Knoeffel.

I think we’re starting the see the impact of SEC and Big10 budgets vs everyone else. The same is true on the women’s side

I couldn't help but think of Evel Knievel, who reportedly got his nickname from local jail officials because there was another local guy who was a regular customer of theirs, William Knofel. They called him "Awful Knofel" and that then prompted them to refer to "Evil Knievel." He apparently liked the way it sounded but didn't like the "Evil" aspect, so he changed the spelling.

I see Duke's website gives the phonetic spelling of "Knueppel" as "kuh-NIP-ull." I guess they don't want to use "nipple."
