Leaving big 10 revenue to go to the big east over funding would be a bold move

Maybe. Lots of donors at Nova with deep pockets and it almost all goes basketball with the football being a lower level.  They had one guy this year who made more in NIL than the whole Maryland budget.

Every year that goes by will magnify the effect on athletic department budgets. Look at the sweet 16- just Duke from the ACC and no mid majors (including the Big East). Granted Maryland athletics is a crap show, but leaving a Big10 school for a non-sec school is insane

It might go deeper than financial concerns as well.  I know I would never live in some states...Maryland being high on that list...

Most chalk tourney in many years.  All 1 versus 2 except one 1 versus 3.

I've been tempted in the past to fill out just a straight chalk bracket. Sure, it's great if you pick the right 5/12s etc... but once every10-15 years you do get the chalk prevailing. that's a heck of a lot better odds of winning a pool than banking on a Yale / UCSD second round game.

I wonder if NIL impacts anything.

Fran McCaffrey takes his $4+ million buy out from Iowa and his coaching talents to the Ivy League. Will coach his Alma mater Penn.  He actually played a year at Wake Forest before transferring to Penn.  Believe he has taken four teams to the NCAA tourney. Hoping he can turn the program around at Penn. One Ivy title in the last twenty years after dominating the league with Princeton in the forty years before that.

No more mid majors with all seniors who’ve gelled together. Now if they look decent, they can make more on the bench of a power program than starting for a small school

Chris Weber-esque blunder by TT. Intentional foul just before Florida was going to get called for a 10 second violation.

Duke’s defense has shut down Alabama. Duke by 18 with under 3 minutes.

Contract details came out officially yesterday, and I didn't mention that he coached UMBC against UVA.

Maryland snags Buzz Williams.   Surprised because Texas A & M was his dream job and he would never leave.   :hysterical:

He’s a good coach.  Wait till you try and listen to his interviews and press conferences.  You will have no idea what he’s talking about.

I think he also says 5 years is about the right time in a job.

Was cruising around YouTube and found this.  Back when the NIT mattered.  Full house at the Garden.  Watch how the Temple point guard only dribbles his right hand!  And no mention of the Temple center: Psychedelic Eddie Mast.

IIRC, that BC team was coached by Bob Cousy. he did so well at BC that he went back to the NBA to be a player coach for the Cincinnati Royals (Which became the Kings when they moved to KC-Omaha).

They mentioned in those highlights that it would be his last game there.  I figured he retired.  You may be right.

Looking like Duke vs Florida.
