A bit apples and oranges to compare Crews' 2025 stats to Langford's 2025 stats. The more apt comparison would be to compare their numbers through their respective first ~200 PAs (Crews is at 219 for his career).

Langford still comes out ahead (~.675 OPS vs .624 for Crews) but it's not nearly as stark.

.214/.241/.357/.598

Langford 2025:
.321/.409/.661/1.070

Yup...Boras screwed us again...

can't do much about Langford. But Crews is playing better and better.
Yes, his stats are slowly improving, but you need to look at them in the context of, if you ignore his good games, they're even worse. Must remove the Dollander and last night's games when evaluating.

Small sample size reigns supreme for the moment, but his good stretch lasting a week is promising.

RotY gonna lead the Nats to the playoffs.
More or less, drop the games in March. He had that ridiculous 8 Ks/8ABs which just happens sometimes. Since the start of April, 71 PAs, which is starting to be a decent sample size, he's .261 / 282 / .435, with 3 HRs and successful 5 out of 6 steals. 15.5 K%. I don't like that he hasn't walked, but short of that, the numbers have come around. I won't split things up too much, but there's no red flags in barrel% or hard hit% over that time. Launch angle is low but trending better. He's already a #5 or #6 bat.

i suspect we'll see a lot of goalpost moving over these next few months.

Crews went through a similar slump the National Chamlionship year and then turned it on for the postseason. It was six or so straight games in May where he seemingly forgot how to hit but like stars do, he turned it around.

Mets radio announcers were astonished at the catch Crews made on Lindor.
