I'm getting more comfortable he can be a *good* glove in CF, not an outfield who can simply cover center. That is a value changer.

So can we safely say that he has officially turned things around for the better?:)

sure seems that way.

It was ridiculous for folks to write him off after 150 or so major league at-bats.

In an article on Cedanne Rafaela's amazing jumps in CF, there's a table with the top 10 CFs in terms of jumps this year. Both Young and Crews show up in it. Yes, DC, DC can play there.

Rizzo:
Quote
“Pitchers made an adjustment to him, and he’s starting to make adjustments to them. They did a few mechanical tweaks with his swing, got a little bit more upright so I think he feels a lot better in the box. And, they're getting Gold Glove defense from him in the outfield, and he's a great base runner. He’s just a good baseball player, so excited to see him get going.”

Hitting streak came out of the 5/6 hole - naturally Davey is batting him 8th tonight so Amed Rosario can get more ABs

Take away the Dollander game and he's 7 for his last 33.

Still a long way to go

Can we look at it a different way and instead take out an 0-fer?

The Rockies are a major league team. Those games happened.

The Rockies are a major league team.

That's debatable.

Crews is up to 200 PAs, well within a breaking in period.   Wyatt Langford, drafted two spots after him, needed a little time last year to start hitting, but now has a 1.070 OPS in Texas.  Of all of Crews' stats, the one that really has to improve is the walks, just three this year.

Funny how small sample sizes are important until they disrupt the narrative.

I have said it over and over...I think this kids ceiling is Lane Thomas v2.0...

YMMV...

He could be another Dustin Ackley, guy who was drafted right after Strasburg and had a career OPS of .671 and was out of baseball by the time he was 29, but we'll see.

Sure, take out an 0 for 4 too. That's 7 for 29.

Rockies are a Quad A team. Dollander has no business on a major league roster.

2-3 against the Mets. Obviously a fluke.

I'll say this: he's no Soto on defense.

3-4, 3R, 3B. Saved the game with his recovery after the dive for the blooper.

Average up to .214.

It wasn't Boras who drafted him.

God I wish the Tigers has taken him.
