There are going to be dead years on that contract.   If he contributes to them getting past the Braves for a few years, then it is a lot easier to eat the end years.

They have Bryce for years also. A couple more years of Schwarber and Castellanos. No reason to not go all in.  I think Trea could move back to the OF eventually.  Some guys can continue to hit into their late 30s. Some don’t. I think Bryce will. Not sure about Trea. But who really knows.
