I am pleased with all three non-Astros AL World Series options.

you are a man of vision and integrity, as well as an egalitarian. Vision in foreseeing the 3 options, integrity in hating on the drummer boys, and an egalitarian for liking all of the options that lack an *. I hope you have positive experiences going forward.

Only Kevin McCarthy is having a worse week than the Florida baseball teams.

Glad to see the narrative that the Marlins are this scrappy team that gets on base has been exposed. They were 19th on OBP. One would think Darnell Coles was their batting coach. No walks. They won all those close games because of good pitching and because their were lucky. Unfortunately also for them they are missing two of their best pitchers.  And how is Jazz Chisholm a superstar with an OPs+‘of 104?

Was there a narrative about them getting in base?

Their season was done when Alcantara went in the IL and they shutdown Eury

138 OPS+ last year, and he was a rather efficient base-stealer this year on top of the 104 OPS+.

I agree that he's not quite on a superstar level yet, but he has the makings of it.

Ironically his career OPS+ is also 104. So he’s had one big year offensively.  1.2 bWAR which includes the defense and baserunning. On the Tuesday broadcast the announcers were raving about him (and Tatis) moving from the infield and becoming phenomenal OFers. Don’t think that is true in his case at least although he made a real nice throw that game.   I guess time will tell.

Like Victor!

Not dissimilar to a young Bryce Harper. You can tell he has talent, he just needs good health. Victor on the other hand…

His stats are nowhere close to a young Bryce.

Edit. Also I was joking about Victor.

So, in reading coverage of yesterday's game, I was reminded that Eovaldi has had 2 TJSs. It's more common now for guys to return well from a second TJS, but I'm wondering if he might be among the best after being given a 3 lease on life as a pitcher. What's especially odd about him is, while he always was a well-regarded prospect, his performance after his second TJS is pretty clearly better than anything he had accomplished before his second surgery.

Who else has pitched as well after a second TJS? Who among those pitchers more or less has exceeded anything that he had done before the second surgery?

The Orioles are getting no love on their chances of winning the World Series. This from the Arizona Republic:

MLB Playoff odds: Who will win World Series?
Braves: 27.5%

Astros 17.5%

Dodgers: 13.8%

Phillies: 11.4%

Twins: 9.9%

Rangers: 8.9%

Diamondbacks: 5.7%

Orioles: 5.2%

we did a few player chats during the site's most active period. Antonelli did one in 2011 when I think he had been signed with a spring invite. Now with X and Facebook there are other common ways for players to interact with fans.

hope the link to the archives works.

If his last name is pronounced like Yung shouldn’t his first name be pronounced Yosh.

I see Schwarber remembers his Nationals' baserunning lessons
