Mister October Glove.

Easiest thing for the Phillies to do is move Bohm to 1B full time for now and Sosa to 3B. And shoot Pache to the moon.
Pache is useful for when they pull Schwarber with a lead

Better off bringing up Guthrie or Kingery. At least they might be a threat to hit.

Philly loses again to drop to 4-9, just like us. We're tied for fourth!

Got to see the good and bad with Schwarber tonight. He hit a mammoth home run. Another time the Reds had first and second. The batter hit a hard single to left. With a good left fielder the Reds don't even send the guy home from second. Because Schwarber was playing left they sent the runner. Schwarber did some kind of windup thing and threw a fly ball to close to home but not at it. The run scored. The guy on first went to third and the batter went to second.

my impression has been that Schwarber's arm is good but his problem is actually getting to the ball.  I'm also a bit surprised that his D is unplayable at 1st.  I didn't think it was that awful, even if subpar.

How many games does he have at 1B?  Can’t be that many. Despite the HRs he is off to another slow start on offense.

I know the Phillies needed a CF for last season and the next few years but think they will really regret trading O’Hoppe to the Angels.  Dude is a stud.

not that many. Turns out, only about 75 innings, almost exclusively over 10 games with Boston.

I think with Schwarber you just have to accept what he is. The ball was right at him. He's going to hit plenty of home runs but strike out a lot and hit around .200. Once Harper can play the field Schwarber has to be full-time DH. The Phillies will get better than they are now but they have holes in the lineup that will kill rallies.

Braves beat the Mets in a homer fest. Will go for a sweep in the “nightcap”.  Think it starts at 5:00 they said so a conventional doubleheader looks like.

Nats only 1.5 games behind the Fillies; 2.5 behind everybody else in NLE except Atlanta.

Wood and Susana and Kieboom. Throw in Corbin and retain most of his salary.

Kieboom could replace Rendon.

just looked at Rendon's stats. No home runs, .266 /.396 / .304. He's basically a walk machine now.

Rendon is now one of the worst contracts of all time. If Soto had taken the extension, he would have been in the running for worst contract of all time. Strasburg is the worst contract in the history of baseball. It's amazing how many stars from the 19 team have just fallen off a cliff

He's not off to the best start himself. .693 OPS compared to Soto's .824.

Trea has been scuffling the last couple weeks after a hot start.  Schwarber is hitting some bombs but down to .188.

Schwarber seems to always have slow starts   Despite the low average his OBP is .316. Trea seems to have left his good mojo at the WBC.

Braves and Orioles are into the 12th. I wonder if this is the longest game since the runner on second in extras rule?
