The umps don't hate us, the umps are just rotten. I see plenty of other rotten calls in other games go against certain teams. Our guys have also taken a lot of close pitches for strike 3s that they should have swung at. The Nats best 2-strike hitter this season is a 19-year old who was in AA in early May.

People think he or Long are the reason our players, who have a history of being crappy (we alternate good years and mediocre years mostly), are being crappy.

I'm placing a lot of blame on this season on the coaching staff but place more on the players and a lot on Rizzo; ultimately, Rizzo's gamble that we'd be as healthy as last year and play crappy teams again backfired.

For one, insert Adams into the lineup against a right handed starter for the Cubs today.  Zimmerman was 0-12 lifetime coming in against hendicks and he looked bad in his ABs today.  There is a general lack of fundamentals and accountability on the team, and that starts with the manager.

I mean I agree with you, but when you’re playing a good team, sometimes two runs is what you get. That has the feel of a winnable game if not for the bullpen management.

The cubs scored “only” 3 runs and this is a.500 team. I wonder if CCFF is lambasting the offense.

Fire Davey Martinez for his own well being.  Throw in the towel on the poor guy.  Once his gimmicks of camels, circles of trusts, pitching wedges, hugs for homers, and just general golly-gee demeanor doesn't work, he has nothing.  Get him out of there before he gets hurt.

I'd fire him now.  He made mistakes and players made mental mistakes.  If your players are making mental mistakes in close games that you really need to win and you're continually messing up as well, it's time to go.

As I was just watching his postgame presser, I had the same thought.............Martinez has the sense of urgency of a man with a 3 year contract.  SMH.

What is the point of firing him if all the Nats are gonna do is go cheap on some other clown college valedictorian? Might as well see if he learns from this season. The lerners need to put more value on the manager and open the wallet some more.

What established, good manager would enter this crapshow of an organization, with huge roster turnover coming in 2019 (and a huge downtick about to happen most likely)? Anyone good will have their pick of decent jobs, which will not be ours. We'll have just fired our 2nd manager in 2 years and fourth in what, five years?

Dusty is still available and we have 0 competition for him :stir:
