The team won 97 games last year with just as many injuries, they are still under 500, hold off on the mission accomplished talk.

So we have to wait 162 games to say if he’s good, but only 12 to say he’s bad? Seems somewhat unfair.

GTFO with that "Does Davy still suck" line after four good games in an otherwise disappointing start. Wake me when we're back on track to win 90.

To be fair, I think you'd need more than 162 games to make the determination.

Let me give you a hypothetical scenario. And I know it's completely out there and probably couldn't happen but...

Imagine if a new manager was a winner for 162 games. They even won an award for their job in those 162 games. Then sucked in the playoffs. Then totally sucked the next 162. I know it's a ridiculous scenario but I'm just trying to make a point.

It will be way more than 162 to say if someone is good. Far less to be able to say if someone isn't.

But Davy has done a good job thus far. He's had to deal with 3 of our 4 best hitters being out. And other than RISP, the Nats were still in the top of the NL in most important offensive categories.

That club house is united and working as a group. Of course that's from the outside looking in.

I disagree sometimes but you can't argue with the results Davy & Company have given so far. It's good.

By the time you wake, you will have already missed boarding the hype train.

And if you are only looking at w/l, AJ Cole, and average with RISP, I can see why you think it's disappointing. Look elsewhere and you will be pleased.

Choo Choo!!! All Aboard!!!

The Nats are a very good team, otherwise I wouldn't be so pissed out having a crappy manager. We should be winning games, we should be in playoff contention. Martinez has been hurting more than helping this club, but I'm not complaining while we're winning. I'm just not going to let a declaration of vindication for Martinez pass while this team is still sub 500.

Would you be kind enough to provide the complete list of things he's doing all wrong, and what he should be doing?

Without Cole (he's gone now) The Nats are in the Top 5 in the league in Pitching. They are top 5 in Defense (last I check). They were top 5 in the league in many important offensive categories, but not with RISP.

And the RISP was the reason for the majority of losses. What should Davy have done... change the lineup?

Get in here Mr or Mrs. Sex Boat!!! In Davy's Nats land you are guaranteed 3 things
1. A winning Ball Club with a can do attitude
2. Hugs
3. Gentle lover like treatment

Get in here!!!

Yeah, wins are way overrated.  Everyone gets ice cream whether they win or lose, and a participation trophy at the end of the season.

Oh wait, this professional baseball, not the local Little League.

Wins and losses is kinda the point.  The only point, in fact.

Cool story bro.

How you turn losses into wins is kind of the point. Figuring out why you lost or why you won is how you start winning or keep winning.

Or we can just look at the record and then go out unprepared.

Ice cream is optional.

We're at .500 without Eaton, Murphy and Rendon for most of that time. Harper even slumped. There are positives here and reasons to be optimistic, but people are pissed because their viewpoint (Martinez is the worst manager in history, and Dusty Baker is a god among mere mortals) is being questioned by reality.

Time will tell on how this season plays out but the last week has been refreshing to say the least.

We'll know by Oct, but given what he's had to play with, he's been okay, and no Matt Williams.
