"Your shower shoes have fungus on them. You'll never make it to the bigs with fungus on your shower shoes. Think classy, you'll be classy. Win 20 in the show, you can let the fungus grow back and the press'll think you're colorful. Until you win 20 in the show, however, it only means you are a slob."
As the great Crash Davis said about Nuke's flip flops, that's how I feel about Davey. If you win 95 games and go deep in the playoffs, you can be goofy and laid back and do all kinds of weird lineups and things. However, as a rookie manager, doing nutty stuff like letting Scherzer attempt to steal a base, or continuing to burn out Doolittle by putting him in non-save situations, or letting a player take spring training off - it's unsettling as a fan.
Davey might end up being a great manager, but right now he's more flaky than good.
