Matt is a crappy manager, but even a good manager wouldn't make this team more than a few wins better. Werth can't drive in runs, he can't get on base, even without 100 at-bats you can see he's bad news. Team is too frail and streaky.

Exactly ... It never occurred to Williams to take him out. Plus, Williams didn't want Drew's mom to not give him a juice box.

I'm glad you like her. My comments have nothing to do with her as a person. Her actions have a "hovering" quality to them.

Bring back Riggleman. Made a respectable team with John Lannan as the ace. Clippard and Capps the relievers. Williams looks lost in space.

Bring back Davey or Bo Porter (3B coach in Atlanta). Hire Joe Gibbs. George Allen with Randy Knorr as bench coach. Trade Harper to the Yankees for Joe Girardi.

Mangers are expected to make decisions based on their knowledge of the game, their feel for players, and intuition for game situations. Mattie is rigid, clueless, and incapable of influencing the game in front of him. He gets walked on by others managers and umpires [when have we ever gotten a big call or reversal?] because he is incapable of exerting an influence over others - he is no personality such as Maddon, Boche, or Hurdle. He is a manager-in-training, and I have had enough of it.

Get rid of this guy before he does any more damage to a team that has a fast closing window.

You know people bash Gibbs II, but he took the god awful Skins franchise that had did nothing since his first tenure to the playoffs twice in a three year span. I honestly think that was a better coaching job than his first tenure here when he was loaded with talent. You give this team a Joe Gibbs like Manager and they roll to 100+ wins easily. I mean look at what Davey did, won 98 with a lesser talented team. He went full senile at the end though, but Davey would run circles around Matt as Manager.
