Was he limping around the bases? I didn't notice a limp from the stands all game.

Indeed. But it doesnt take much for a Grade 1 to become a Grade 2. Nats gambled with him. 1 vs 2 is a difference of over a month, plus the time it takes him to get up to speed.

I was kind of surprised he was not removed for defensive purposes once the lead got to 5.

Possibility. But he is definitely staying off his back leg while at bat.

Doesn't seem to have bothered him too much. After the off day and the early exit today I'm sure he'll be well rested for Tuesday.
