Because you don't move superstars unnecessarily.
If he is not signed by then he is likely not coming back so what's the difference?

Eventually...the Yankees already have a right fielder...
DH. He can work in the hair while the Yankees are in the field.

I may be stupid, but aren't  the three things that explain a higher BABIP than BA 1) Luck 2) hitting ball hard 3) speed?

It seems MAT has all three of these. So why are we attributing all to #1. I accept I may not understand statistic.

you think Harper's gonna move to LF?
Got him flipped, nah he'd be in right.

Severino is hitting about .200 this year. He has some work to do.
Not worried about a backup catcher's offense.

If Eaton is in LF, we may as well deal him. His defense is one of his biggest tools. Putting him in LF negates it.

Unfortunately, I can't think of a single player who has had sustained success in the major leagues with his batting profile. Which is unfortunate, because I want to like Michael A. Taylor...

He should legitimately be hitting no better than last season, except his BABIP is 68 points higher. He is swinging at 10% more pitches out of the zone, while making 20% less contact.

I do not look forward to his eventual cratering, although I fully expect it :(
Well, O contact down is consistent with more hard contact (hard to drive balls outside the zone). His hard contact is up as a % of his contact, and his soft contact is down.   Maybe by batting 8th, folks aren't willing to walk him because they don't want to clear the pitcher or face a PH?  I really don't know if that's smart, especially when he's making hard contact enough to be a problem for opponents.

He's in a hot streak similar to the way Espi would go on streaks. Eventually he'll fall off. But thankfully he's just a 7th/8th hitter on this team, its not like we're relying on him. Any offense we get out of him is a bonus.

New best #8 hitter in baseball?  I'm really surprised FP hasn't started saying that about him.

Right, but is this because he's in a hot streak (when you normally would be making more hard contact and less soft contact) or due to some new-found ability to make better contact? Strange for him to make better contact without improving in making overall contact.

LD% down, FB% up but hitting fewer HR/FB, GB% up.

I just don't buy it, although I'd LIKE to buy it. I just can't imagine he's anywhere close to a .385 BABIP guy (career .325). I think he's just having a hot streak, so his BABIP and exit velocity reflect that.

Hope I'm wrong.

His gun is still deadly. Yo's gun plays in LF.

There is nothing wrong with putting MAT in LF

That probably would be more of a waste.

Having too many good defensive outfielders would really suck, you guys.

Not a problem, Lind is going to get some games out there which should help.

We have two. Not sure how that's too many.

Taylor in CF, Eaton in RF, Harper in LF

I don't get why they are being so secretive about his injury. What could it be?
