Well, O contact down is consistent with more hard contact (hard to drive balls outside the zone). His hard contact is up as a % of his contact, and his soft contact is down.
Right, but is this because he's in a hot streak (when you normally would be making more hard contact and less soft contact) or due to some new-found ability to make better contact? Strange for him to make better contact without improving in making overall contact.
LD% down, FB% up but hitting fewer HR/FB, GB% up.
I just don't buy it, although I'd LIKE to buy it. I just can't imagine he's anywhere close to a .385 BABIP guy (career .325). I think he's just having a hot streak, so his BABIP and exit velocity reflect that.
