Goodwin isn't off to the greatest start, but he's drawing walks and has his OBP at .345.  Maybe it is time for the swap out?  I think they need a 5th OF if Heisey is the primary RH pinch hitter.

I would like to send Difo down to play OF for a month when Drew comes back, then switch him with Taylor after that.

The two aren't really mutually exclusive - you can send Difo and Taylor down for Goodwin and off-DL Drew.  Get them both at bats and CF time (as well as SS for Difo, who needs to be better at SS if he wants to stick in the majors and isn't going to hit).

I'd rather have Roger Bernadina back at this point.

Bernadina will forever be my favorite 4th outfielder.  The Catch was incredible.

If there's a series to give him any run, it's this one.  Colorado, where the outfield is half the state and breaking balls don't break.  Michael Taylor paradise - and if it doesn't work, he can go have some edibles in the clubhouse to chill out for the flight to Syracuse.

Give Pagan a major league deal and jettison Taylor. He is atrocious at the plate.

I know most have given up on the "toolsy" 26 year old, but I have this feeling that he seizes this opportunity.  My cousin Billy Burns came up through the Nats system with MAT and has told me several times how talented the guy is.  It seems his biggest obstacle is mental.  I think Dusty gets this guy to start hitting.  I'm sick for what happened to Eaton, but hopefully Adam is back later this summer and we end up with a great 4th OF at full strength in MAT.

Not the hugest sample size.  But if he hits 1.000 for the rest of the way I'll be pleased.

I don't care about his three hits.  He swings for the fences every time he swings, even with two strikes.  Swinging for the fences, you're going to make contact once in a while, but more often, not.  His last two at bats were pitiful.  Swinging for a homerun two down in the ninth, nobody on base, two strikes, Harper on deck?  He needs to get on base in that situation.  I'm not saying he plays selfishly or dumb, it's the only swing he knows.

I got in the house in time to catch the last few innings.    His at bats late were vintage Michael A. Taylor.

He can't hit breaking balls. Opposing pitchers will figure that out, just like last year.

I assume that's why Dusty was trying him in the two hole. More fastballs.

I've only been following the Nats closely for about 2 years. So this is a serious question. If he really can't hit breaking balls, why has he gotten multiple chances in the Bigs? I'm trying to figure out why the organization is so enamaored with him? Especially since they were willing to cut bait on a prospect as highly rated as Giolito when it appeared that he had lost a little luster.

The only thing is speed and arm.    I haven't seen him hit consistently (except in ST) since he's been around.

He has tools. Speed, arm, defense, and power. All at a position that usually lacks offensive production

I wish we could do that on a loan type deal like soccer allows.  That would be good for baseball.  It would allow older players with tools but aren't young enough to be prospects but aren't MLB caliber yet a shot
