Thank you, that's much simpler and to the point.  I'd be one of those people, because it's 8/28 and it's 6 games with 6 head to head.

Having said that, I feel like it's over and the division is in the bag.

the jinx fairies be damned! Even though Pebble is totally correct in that anything can happen with this many games remaining I feel like this team will get it together and win the division comfortably.

Nope. I guess he's dead. He was rather decrepit.

The reports of my death have been greatly exaggerated.

I'm not so sure Nats even need to "get it together" per se - sure the series against the phillies was the suck, but that was the first sweep against the Nats since what, June? I see that as a fluke - much like the 5 walk-offs in the 10 game streak was a fluke.

It's like scoring in skating, you throw out the high and the low and what's left is pretty much what you are. What's left is a team with the best record in the league, the best run differential, a top 3 pitching staff and a top 3 offense.  Should be more than good enough to win this thing.

Bring it on

The Orioles now have the biggest division lead in baseball, so for reasons only WPA understands the Nats chances just took a hit.

You wouldn't explain what your point was, so I had to take your word for it that it mattered.

It is possible to take someone's word for something without being condescending.

I'm not enjoying this exchange with you on any level. So if you want to continue to talk down to me, you'll have to do it on your own.

Good night

Sorry, this all started when I posted something innocuous and you told me it's ok to be happy now and then.  So I think we got off on the wrong foot re: condescension.

No need to apologize -it's just a message board and we're both Nats fans after all ...

But - I appreciate the apology just the same.  Thank you for that.

Have a good night
