:smh: Minor has two decent starts against poor opponents

That's what Strasburg did against the Mets and Diamondbacks and some were beaming over it.  :stir:

Barves ain't making the playoffs. Book it.

But on this we agree.

Braves don't give a freak.  They're confident.

Series win vs Mets.  Beat Fish this weekend. And own Nats.

I took a few years of Latin and was curious.   Oh, and by the way, it wasn't my native tongue.  ;)

What reality? That they have the largest division lead in all of baseball?

It's actually rare to blow a lead this large this late in the season. Why automatically go to the lowest common denominator?  Unlike the Braves which are SIX games back, the Nats are in FIRST PLACE.

Could they lose the lead? Of course. But that hasn't happened. That isn't close to happening. Why invent scenarios that don't exist?

Seriously, what reality are you talking about exactly?

Why is it relevant that the Nats have the biggest division lead in baseball?  I'm pretty sure their lead would be six whether or not some AL team had a 15 game lead.  It's really hard to respond to something so meaningless.

Here's reality - a scenario where they blow the lead actually DOES exist.   That's all, it's not likely but it exists and it's not crazy or unprecedented or even that shocking.

It must be exhausting spending your entire sports fandom convinced that doom is lurking around every corner. I'm just reading about it on random posts on a message board, imagine actually feeling that way? Brutal

I mean if you can't be even the slightest bit happy being in first place, what's the point? I don't get it.

Meh - to each his own. Far be it from me to interfere with the Apocalypse - carry on

Now the size of the lead is meaningless? I don't understand this post at all.

Look I get it, there are people who simply cannot enjoy the moment that they are in right now. They are convinced that doom and gloom lurks around every corner.  I get it.

so be it - Personally, I'm pretty psyched we're in first place.

So I'll make you a deal, I'll stop trying to convince you not to be miserable and you can stop trying to convince me that apocalypse is coming

Nats have lost a staggering 2 games in the standings in just a few days. Pitiful.  It's going downhill.

Seattle and LA will be the end of Nats if they don't snap out of it.

You know what, forget it.  I tried to make one point: "they'll probably win the division but it's still a race."  But nevermind that, I'm a gloom and doomer and everybody knows baseball ends in August.  This is the crap that fans of teams that have been around more than a decade laugh at Nats fans for.

You're trying to temper people's enthusiasm about being in first place because the possibility exists that they could lose that lead. So the freak what, the possibility exists that a meteor could drop on my neighborhood tomorrow. Am I supposed to lose sleep over that too?

You are no better than anyone else - "fans" like you try to suck the joy out of others - plenty of people get plenty of laughs at your ilk's expense, so spare me the righteous indignation

I'm pretty sure if the Nats were down 6 games people wouldn't be saying it's over.

Thank you, that's much simpler and to the point.  I'd be one of those people, because it's 8/28 and it's 6 games with 6 head to head.
