I don't understand the worry about "only" being 5 games over at the midway point.  Right now they have 12 games before the break, with the O's being the only winner in the group.  They're one good stretch away from having one of the best records in baseball. 

The thing to worry about is the Braves are a good team too.  The Braves are good, the Nationals are good.  All this is is a race for the division.

I agree with the others.   There's not a lot of panic other than a few posters.   I'm not sure if that's not simply shtick.

The quality of the opponent seems to be meaningless.  The Braves just swept the Phillies, but they got swept by them two weeks ago.  They've also been swept by the Mets, Marlins and Red Sox.  We took 3 out of 4 at SF and 2 out of 3 at Milwaukee, but then we split against a bad Cubs team.  The Braves and Nats both have inconsistent offenses, so losses to average teams are going to continue.  The division will probably be decided by which team can get hot offensively and reel off a 13-2 run.

The Nats have had a 4 game win streak followed by a 3+ game loss streak 3 times already.  They need to get over that hump and it seems like now is a good time, with 2 straight wins coming home.

They need five runs to get past the Mets. Gattis is on the DL, they're hitting BJ Upton at leadoff, and Simmons is streaking. They still have Minor, Harang, and Wood in that rotation, along with a medicore pen outside of Kimbrel.

Yup 9 out of 10 for them.  They are mowing down the NL east - 7 straight against Phili and NYM with sorry ass Arizona up next for them.  I thought losing Gattis would really hurt them but I guess I was wrong.

Jimmy Rollins is my least favorite MLB player by a wide margin. In my opinion, he’s farrrr worse than any of the Nats. The Nats are like the kid at pickup games wearing a headband and 11 armbands on his arms and legs who makes one step-back three and then proceeds to yap the whole game while going 2/17 from the field after that point. You just kinda sit back and let the spectacle unfold.
