The Phillies couldn't be rolling over in any more pathetic fashion.

Buchanan walks Harang with 2 outs and then BJ Upton crushes a 400 foot 2 run double to CF. 2-0 Braves and counting

La Stella and Laird with back to back doubles.

Braves up 3-1. Welp, this one is over, Nats fall to 2nd place. The Braves all of a sudden have caught fire. Their schedule is extremely easy for the next month too so they will keep rolling. The Nats have to try not to fall too far behind.

The Braves already are rolling. 6-1 week on the road. Picked up 2 games on the Nationals.

Lol, we went on a losing streak and they only picked up two games. They'll cool off and go back to striking out. Meanwhile, the Nationals will be that 100 win team everyone has been predictingg.

Give the Braves credit.  They came off losing 2 in a row here, lost another starting pitcher to a broken elbow, lost Gattis, Justin Upton has been aching, but they finish off an 11 game road trip winning 6 of 7, 8 of 11 overall.  They don't complain their injuries.  They just play.  Meanwhile, our last 2 multi-city road trips all I have heard about it how tired our guys are towards the end.  Maybe the SF to St. Louis trip was rough so a sweep was inevitable.  I don't know.  Maybe the 16 inning game this week emptied our tanks (although it didn't seem to bother Milwaukee).  Either way, I'm not convinced we are better than Atlanta.

Yep.

Nats are as healthy as they're going to get. Either this team is a legit world series contender or they're not. The time is now. The Braves will continue to have hot streaks and cold streaks. The Nationals need to have consistent wins. No more of one loss turning in to a 3+ losing streak. The rotation is too good for that. The lineup should be to good for that.

Qft. They are a resilient bunch. And they get to pad their schedule with easy games for the next month.

You keep saying this crap. So do the Nationals. The only decent team the Nats play in July is the Brewers, who we just beat in their own park. The Braves have to play the Dodgers in LA. And then August, the only decent team we have to play is the Giants at home. The Braves have to play the Nationals, the Dodgers, and the A's. They're freaked.

The East is ours. The Nationals are poised to go on a run. The Braves' starting pitching is finally catching up with them.

As much as I hate to say it, I would say the Orioles are a good team that we have a 4 game series with.  We haven't fared too well against them the last couple years.

They're not that good and theyre in a crappy division. And they don't have Arietta anymore.

More like he's benefiting from no longer pitching to the AL East in a bandbox for a park.

I don't know what you are talking about. Harang is pitching well again. And Alex Wood is back in their rotation and he was flawless his first time back.

You know what...it really still is early to say anything with certainty.

Look at it this way, if we'd won the series against the Cubs, ie going 3-1, we'd be 1/2 game ahead of the Braves right now.  If we'd SWEPT the Cubs, we'd be 1 1/2 games ahead.  In either case, it's way too early to be printing playoff tickets.

Lulz

Harang still sucks. Wood is eh. They're 29th in scoring and the best upgrade they have is a slap hitting second baseman. The only reason they're not five back is because of some fluke streak against the Nats. Who they don't play until September.  The Barves are already dead. They just don't know it yet.
