Samardjia (sp?) and Hammel traded to A's per MLBN.  So who pitches against Nats tomorrow?

This is really starting  to piss me off, I don't think they've lost since Gattis has been out...Hopefully the Barves will be back to playing .500 ball soon.

Braves are the ultimate hot/cold team. They'll get cold soon and they'll lose to some meh teams.

Bottom line is the Nats need to win what's in front of them. And they need to start with today. So far this season, one loss usually leads to three or four. The Nationals are healthy. They can't afford for that to happen again.

It was like this last year.  Braves won 13 in a row in the beginning and basically played .500 ball the rest of the year and that was enough to win the east.

Anyone remember Ranger Hal?

Sure, mom took us to meet him and get autographed stuff from him at a grocery store (Giant?) in Eastover.

Barves lose.  The Nats are actually a game ahead of them in the loss column.  It's a crime that the Nats haven't pulled away in this division, the Barves suck.

The National League is wide open. The Brewers and Giants whom both looked like they were going to run away with 100+ wins have gone down the crapter over the last month. It is pretty much anyone's game at this point.

Brewers 52-39
Dodgers 51-41 (1.5 GB)
Nationals 48-40 (2.5 GB)
Giants 49-41 (2.5 GB)
Braves 49-41 (2.5 GB)
Cardinals 49-42 (3 GB)

I wouldn't be surprised if Milwaukee folds in the second half and the Cards & Reds finish ahead of them.

And why not the Nats since they are the team with the most improved lineup from the first half.

If a guy like David Price ends up on one of these rosters, it could swing the balance.

Any fans on taking a chance on AJ Piersynski (sp). I am okay with it. He is a left handed bat and that helps too. Lobaton can have a mysterious back injury lol.

I was replying to DPM's post. And who outside of Mike Rizzo has said Hamels is a jerk? And, quite frankly, who gives a crap if he is one? He goes out and performs pretty consistently, I'd love to add a jerk like that to our rotation.

Now that would be funny.

This team doesn't need more starters or pitchers of any kind. I wouldn't mind another bench bat though.

You can always improve your roster though, why settle for Roark when you could get Hamels? Depending on the asking price, it's a no brainer. Billy Beane had one of the best staffs in baseball and went out and made 'em even better. You can't get better by standing still.

I'm thinking most of the Nats roster too.

Sure, he would be an improvement over the fifth starter. But you would be giving up a lot for him.
