LMAO that they recorded Bryce scraping his foot across the A in Atlanta on 3 different at bats but yet he issued a statement saying he had no idea he even did it and it was an accident. Bryce it makes you much more badass to just admit it.

BBTN just did an awesome segment on Harper's approach, how Harper's stance lets him see the ball better now and how he will hit it in the air now.

His homer landed as far back in the bullpen as possible. Last year he hit a line drive over the Dunkin Donuts sign, which is above the bullpen. No way to compare the drives to home runs Harmon Killebrew hit at Griffith Stadium, though I think Harmon's went higher and deeper. The old bleachers stood behind a ten foot wall and climbed sharply to about 30 feet.In 1959, the LF line was about 350 feet. Still, if Harper does not have Killebrew power, that's OK. Frank Howard and Mickey Mantle are the only guys who hit farther, higher, and harder than Harmon. If I'm comparing Harper to those guys, he's among the biggest sluggers in modern baseball.

I feel like he is back. He obviously won't put up that many homers in that amount of time for the rest of the year, but he has worked out whatever was stopping him and frustrating him. I feel like that walkoff gave him his groove back.

...and the Nats need Harper now. I looked at the lineup and realized that LaRoche was the only "real adult" out there. No Werth, no Zimmerman, no Ramos (night off). The Nats still won.

Does that mean the Nats have a good bench because they can play well when some "regulars" aren't in there ? Or does it just mean pitching is carrying us and will tell the story of how far the Nats go in the playoffs ?

This may sound crazy but one of the joys of the game for me is watching a young player encounter the inevitable struggles, learn, adjust, and get better. Some never figure it out, of course, but that just adds to the intrigue for me.
