Zorn left behind a garbage 4-12 team behind,  shanny built it into a 3-13 dumpster fire,  I guess the next guy could go 2-14, but I'm not sure that would feel worse (at least we'd be looking forward to a good pick)

Zorn took a playoff team and turned it in to a 4-12 team. Shanny took over that team and got them to the playoffs.

The way I see it, we're screwed regardless of who is the coach next season. There are so many holes on this team...2015 we'll be somewhat competitive again.

So aside from parroting the radio talking heads and lamenting the lack of a #1 this year, do you have anything constructive to offer? Steps to take to get better? FAs to look into? Coaches?

I've made it clear that I want a real GM who has a free hand to do what ever they want,  DeCosta would be my first choice.

Jason Licht would be a more likely choice. DeCosta isn't leaving Baltimore and even if he did, what makes you think he'd hold any more sway over Dan Snyder than Bruce Allen? Licht has worked under Belicheat, Jimmy Johnson and the Walrus.

I don't really have that much an issue with Allen, but I want a HC and GM on the same page.

The cash is not rolling in the way it once was. And while I know he's all about the money, the story has always been that he's a real fan of the team with too high an opinion of his own capabilities.

I'm biased ( )   ...   Grimm is a Pittsburgh boy.   I can't imagine him taking crap from a snot nosed QB.

He made a lot of money at a young age and has an aggrandized opinion of himself. I'm hoping that 20 years of abject failure have been sinking in.

Grimm being a former Hogg might have the sway to get Snyder to lay down a la Gibbs. I also can't imagine him being pushed around by a QB. Interesting thought.

DeCosta isn't leaving. He's the heir apparent to Newsome. Why leave?

If he takes an NFL job he'll do very well. He is like Chip Kelly. He isn't a gimmick coach, he is just a damn good offensive mind.  They have both won different ways at different stops before settling on their current schemes.

No but the Skins shouldn't hire a coach they don't think can work with RGIII. The Skins already invested heavily in him and have seen him be a tremendous player when not in the middle of a dumpster fire as a rookie. Quarterback is the most important single position in the NFL. Now, if the new coach comes in with a goal of working with RGIII and it still doesn't work out then a few years from now it won't be the coach taking the fall.

Rex Ryan retained by Jets but now Ray Horton is on the market. I'd rather the Skins move to a 4-3, but Horton is a top coordinator.
