DeCosta isn't leaving. He's the heir apparent to Newsome. Why leave?
@MikeJonesWaPo: Mike Shanahan and his staff have been fired.
The blade has fallen. We need to find a way to put Snyder's head on the block as well.
The next few days will be telling. How Snyder handles this will indicate whether he's grown and changed at all.
Never will a franchise owned by Daniel Snyder win a championship. Redskins fans should savour 1991, the year of the best-ever 14-2 regular season and the third and last Super Bowl title...for there will be no more.
i dont think a leonsis-owned team will win one, either, so the nats are everyone's only hope...
I'm afraid you're right. Alex Ovechkin may well go down as the greatest NHL player ever who never played on a Stanley Cup champion...Nats or bust, it would indeed seem to be.
ovechkin's only hope is for a ray bourque-esque trade at the end of his career. so sad

Even if Snyder is the chronic illness that afflicts his own franchise, and even if Griffin needs to lower his profile and heighten his craft, Shanahan’s departure is still good riddance.

What would you say about Snyder's "growth" if he hired Cowher? It's rumored that Snyder has already met with him twice.
