The Lerners fielded the 2008 and 2009 teams, didn't fire StanK after begging Philly trash to overtake the stadium, and have never apologized for anything they've ever done.   To get embarrassed you have to care and they obviously don't.  Not that I don't agree with you, because I do, but they don't care.

We're creative, and we've had evidence that we've gotten under their skin before, so if they really want to put budgets above the fan base, they'll earn every bit of what's coming to them.

Read some of Mark L's postings from the past couple of years.  He has been very reactive to criticism from many fronts, whether it's the ongoing payroll questions and willingness to spend or something as tangential as the foot-dragging to complete the Nationals baseball academy.  He really got bent on of shape on that one, and he also went on long rants against media types that didn't understand the way the Nationals' plan was progressing.  He's not one that's going to be able to sit still under a constant drumbeat of LAIAC.  Even if the braintrust is too dense to get the clue to invest in the Nats and let the fans and local businesses do their part, they'll at least have to endure to be sneered and scoffed at in many local circles for their selfish and idiotic actions.

Where does Mark Lerner post?  The baseball academy costs what, $5m?  Why drag your feet on something like that if you're as charitable as many on here seem to think the Lerners are.  I mean, did it really take me buying 10 Lastings Milledge singed baseball at $5/each to help them make that happen?

For that contract they can have him.  Prince would be a great addition and make us a contender. His agent is also Scott Boras and I'm sure wont accept anything less than a 6/7 year contract that is a huge gamble.  The amount we offered can only be speculated.  In a 7 year contract, he will cripple the team financially and become what Alfonso Soriano is to the Cubs.

Lead them to back-to-back playoff appearances and fill the stands?  If he signs with the Dodgers I look forward to seeing how many playoff appearances they have compared to the Nats. 

Not really sure how signing Fielder cripples this team given the income levels of the metro area but whatever.  I guess we better enjoy third place while it lasts.
