Loverra just discussed his column on AM980, he still says that people within the Nationals organization tell him there's been discussion of moving Zimmerman to 1B.

Something just occurred to me.  What if Werth had come in and hit like gangbusters last year..... .300/.400/.500 and 40 homeruns... would "our budget" be able to afford two players making $40 million then?  If so why?  If not why not?

Or is "our budget" just incapable of supporting two $20 million players, period?

Rendon should be a 2B, period. Screw 3B. Move him to 2B and kick Desmond's ass to the curb.

Rendon should play a game or two of professional baseball before anything is considered about moving anybody or kicking anybody to the curb.

Right now, there is more evidence that Rendon's a bust than that he's Zimmerman's or anybody else's replacement.

There is NO evidence of EITHER.

JimBo is trying to convert O's fans into Nats fans.

I enjoyed that.

When you start off your career with an injury so severe that you can't play or they don't want you to play,. that doesn't bode well.  It's also, frequently, the first step to busthood.

I enjoy XM calling the Nats dumb if they don't get the deal done in such a weak market. Couldn't agree more.

NO! Don't touch Zimm!!!

You don't move a top 10 all-time defensive 3B to a new spot.

Thom Loverro knows nothing.

Sometimes he has impressive insight.  Not this time.  The discussion of moving Zimmerman to first has been based on the possibility that at some point he will no longer be able to play third.  Nobody is talking about moving him off third as long as he continues to be able to play third.   He's the best there is there.

One of the callers to XM suggested that Rendon would move Zimmernan to first, and the host nearly blew a fuse at that suggestion.

He once said something that was so completely wrong, that pretty much turned my opinion of him.  Unfortunately,  I can't remember what he said or even what sport/team it was about.   :-[

I mean, moving him to 2B is better than 1B. But in my opinion, Zimm should never be moved ever never.

Where can I hear this?  I might have to get XM just to listen to this nonsense and to call in.  Maybe I can start all of my calls as:

"This is Marcus from DC, I'm a Semite, hate the Lerners, think they're misers and want this team to win before I die of old age."
