now i truly believe it's going to come down to the 18th darvish deadline.

I think Knorr and whoever else has been saying that the signing will keep until after the 18th have been right on the money. I still don't know if we're getting Fielder or not. The Lerners are hoping Fielder gets discontinued or that the expiration date on the label passes so they can get a cheap bargain.

The Nats aren't interested in Fielder. Ladsund is an idiot but the reasons he gave on why they won't sign him are legit. He doesn't fit what Rizzo is looking for, not at all. We aren't getting him.

Lorb was on with Bowden and Casey Stern on Inside Pitch between 4:15 and 4:30. Before he came on, Bowden said that if Ladson prints it, it came from a Lerner, Rizzo or some other high placed Nats source. He would know, right? Ladson basically came on and reiterated the article. If the price doesn't come time, the Nats are unlikely to sign Fielder. If the price/years come down, different story.

This is pretty much what the consensus has been so far, so this article really adds no value. Another week+ of this is going to drive me insane.

People are calling into XM and saying the Nats shouldn't sign Fielder cause it makes them like the Skins and Caps.

Absolutely. There's no indication that that's still (assuming it ever was) his asking price. Reread that Ladson column. He "skillfully" neglects to say or even speculate about an asking price, only what the Nationals (and everybody else) won't pay.
