Why do you keep making this all about you? Can't you accept the simple fact what works for you and your children might not work for someone else and their children?
The absolute worst thing about being a parent are those "perfect parents" always telling you how they are a much better parent than you for whatever reason. I think it's kind of childish, ironically.
You're the one who brought up the anecdote regarding kids with disabilities. I just figured one good anecdote deserved another.
But if you would like to continue to insist that the Girl Scouts will somehow suffer by missing a prep-day for SoLs then knock yourself out. I guess you don't have as high an opinion on the Girl Scouts as I do.
And yes, I still think parents who wouldn't pull their kids out of school for an OCCASIONAL ball game are LAME. Just keep sending them to school and forget making good memories with them. They'll talk all about it in therapy.
