The bullpen is too young? What does that even mean? Almost all of our pen is comprised of veteran guys. They may be younger in age but they have been around the block for quire a while.

It isn't that so much is he's using immediate help to judge some moves and long term help for others. If you're judging pre-waiver deals you have to base them on how they help a team this season and this season alone. The idea that the Dodgers broke even and the Braves succeeded is stupid beyond all belief.

His supporting arguments might be shaky, but his conclusion is correct, Rizzo should have done something to improve the team going into the final stretch.

Also, from the point he's trying to make, the five game losing streak is irrelevant. It is a 162 game season and all teams have losing streaks. Doing something or not doing something isn't going to change that.

Another laugher put out by Fluffer, the Nats are going to put a cap on season ticket sales! Yeah, sure they are, they have only about 11K in season ticket plan sales this year, chances that they were going to almost double that next year? Zero. So this is plainly an effort to create a false demand. Don't worry Nats fans, if on April 1st you want a ticket plan they'll have one to sell you.

Since they are trying to tie playoff ticket sales to commitments for 2013 plans, I'm taking this as a clear sign that they did not get the expected rush of deposits and that there will be plenty of good seats available when single game playoff tickets come available.

I think if everyone was healthy next year, we could have everyone in the lineup, aside from the pitcher, hit maybe 15+ homers.

In addition to inflating demand by limiting supply, I suspect that the team will limit STH sales in the cheaper sections of the park, so that the $10-20 seats and the 21-41 game plans may not all be available for season ticket purchases in order to drive people to step up to the more expensive sections and full season plans.

Buying a 21 game plan in the $10 section of the RF Uppers is still the best deal going in PB69's opinion.

It's not limiting anything if they're well short of the 20,000. Sounds like there's not enough natitude and they need to ignite demand. Sounds like one of those infomercials for gold or silver coins...due to unprecedented demand we're forced to limit sales to only 2 per caller, don't miss out on this opportunity call now before they're all gone!

PS...while it pains me to agree with PB69, he's right about the $10 partial plan!

This much we know: the current STH base is no higher than 14,520, which is the lowest attendance we've had this season (Wednesday 18th April vs Astros) - and that would be only if absolutely no single tickets had been sold.

I don't get all the negativity. STH sales do go up after a good season, and too many teams will sell as many as they can, squeezing out the fan who can only afford (in time and/or money) to attend a few games in person each year. You can look 45 miles up the road to see an owner who did just that - there were years when you couldn't get a ticket to Camden Yards unless you knew a STH or went to a scalper. I like that the Lerners are trying to avoid that situation and are declaring their intentions publicly. Of course the letter is meant to generate interest in additional ST sales, but it also serves as a fair warning to fans that they might not be able to get ST at some point in the future, and fans need to take that into account when deciding if and when to get ST.

I'm surprised at how many people on this board have season tickets. As a guy who always does walk-up, and will try to get into the playoffs as a walk-up, I really like this announcement.
