Typical.

Mike Rizzo smiles as his team has good defense and looks good in a uniform.

The whole quality start stat is stupid. It should either be 2 ER in 6ip or 3 ER in 7IP. Something like that.
I completely agree, I've suggested exactly those guidelines in the past. While I understand the concept (when you've given up 10 runs, the 11th run doesn't matter as much as the first one you give up), the terms are fairly easy to realize.

Putting aside for the moment that QS would be an arbitrary measure no matter where you draw the line, I think too many people who pooh-pooh the QS stat are getting caught up in the idea that it's supposed to say something about the starter that it really wasn't meant to (mindfact).  QS just means that the guy went out and did enough to keep the team in the game.  From there on, it's up to the pen.  It's a measure of acceptability, not of excellence.

Philly home game at Nats Park. Front office is happy as this is a nice boost to attendance.

So without the Cora Babylon, this game would be tied, no? I think the sac fly would have driven him in.

Surely we have someone on here with law enforcement contacts....or we could use that 'Report Suspicious Behaviour' number.

It's a measure of acceptability, not of excellence.

It's just a way for mediocre pitchers to get paid more for being mediocre.

could be mindfacting but i think he does better in 8th + 9th innings?

Definitely mindfacting.
