lol you're two names behind. Was Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum until this year, now o.co coliseum haha

Hahaha! The other day somebody asked about my desktop background (Coors Field sunset, posted here on WNFF) and I said it was "Mile High."

Hope nobody ever asks me where the Marlins play.

You know where it'd be great if he could learn his craft? In the minor leagues.

Oh wait, he can't go there.

You know where else he can learn his craft? In the major leagues, on a non-contender where it won't matter if we lose two extra games.

Oh wait, he's there.

I'm not upset we lost his Type A status. I'm upset we lost Josh. I have asperger's syndrome so I like having consistent order. Josh gave us a lot of good memories in less than stellar seasons and above all he had unwavering loyalty to this organization.

Sure, by how do you explain to the six year old that's at the park for the only Nats he's going to for the year that the guy that just walked the bases loaded to lose the game is "working things out"?*

* This actually happened at Nats Park except it was with a dude in his 60s.

I would explain that his FIP suggests that his ERA ought to regress, especially when one considers the correlation between fastball velocity and FIP. Or I'd tell the 6 year old that he's learning, just like you are, so he can be better in the future :)

Does your Curly W Nationals cap have a tin foil lining?

Dude, seriously, you sound nuts

Where is all of this trust of the veracity of Mike Rizzo coming from?  The man who claimed Yunesky Maya was scouted (with a 94MPH fastball), which he clearly wasn't.  Mike Rizzo is, provably, a liar.  Is this even debatable?

You don't bother, and then you steal his foul ball.

Um yeah, the whole "Rizzo is lying about Purke getting an MRI" stuff is just nuts.

The Rizzo is lying about Purke getting an MRI stuff is nuts, sorry, it just is.

if you want to doubt the Nats doubt the skill of the guy who checked the MRI (lest we forget the history of our young aces- Patterson, Zimmermann, Strassburg), but there is no way Rizzo just made that up

Yeah, the question of Rizzo making that up reminds me of the reporter who asked the doctor if he could interview the guy who donated his heart to the other patient. Seriously, the question is so preposterous it can't be real.

He wants Strasburg to get more groundballs and stop being Strasburg.

Sigh.

there's still one thing that Rizzo has to do IMHO to seal the deal with the fans (me in particular) - extend Ryan Zimmerman for another 7 years or so.  If he does one of those "well, we'll wait until the end of his contract to talk about a new deal" he's lost me as a supporter.

i believe he said they want Strasburg coming over the top a bit more and were hoping to make him a bit more efficient - 7-8Ks per 9 instead of 9-10.

Fire Rizzo for having a bullpen with TWO dependable relievers because he's hurting the team for next year, burning through so many appearances/innings from Clippard and Storen, this year.

It's not actually more efficient that way because more runners get on base.  The best way to go deep into games is not to stop striking people out, but to stop walking people.  Anyway, last year he was actually over 12 K/9 and had the second fewest pitches per inning of anyone on the staff.

As far as I can recall, his SIERA/xFIP are right in line with how he's been performing. Maybe a tad high, but he's not a very good pitcher.

Sean Burnett is the reason Rizzo needs to be fired!  Ian Desmond at leadoff?!

Fire Rizzo.
